Incredible story!

This series is magic! I keep listening to each book and thinking there’s no way it’s going to be as good as the last but each book I’m happily proved wrong. The story line keeps me on the edge of my seat. I’ve fallen in love with each of these brothers and I love getting to know them better each story.

The narration is incredible. It’s a large ensemble cast but Nick J. Russo makes each character distinct and easily distinguishable. Every book in this series is totally worth the credit. I will definitely be listening again and again!

Pretty good series installment

I’m giving this a 3.5 rounded up to 4 because Gray is adorable and the author here really threaded the needle in depicting a cute character who often reads like an adolescent and yet does *very* adult things. It’s a balancing act, but she pulled it off without love interest Hawk seeming too pervy. Wish there had been more action — the climactic battle scene was over in a second — but I’m holding out hope that Bell and Phoenix will make up for that in the next book. Still love Nick Russo narrating pretty much anything.

Not as good as the others

This one was an odd one for me. Grey is portrayed as very childlike in the other stories so it was difficult to switch to a more adult view of him. I honestly didn’t feel the chemistry much between the MMC’s and their dynamic is a little odd. Def need to listen to understand the flow of the plot throughout the stories if you’re listening through. I’m very excited for Bellamy’s book!

Not my fave

Of course I love the series, the plot, the writing, the characters are pretty good too. I’m not a super huge fan of the narration though. This one took me back to Galen, some of the voices were a bit screechy, the volume levels went up and down quite a bit, kinda jarring when you are wearing headphones. I still think the narrator’s Russian accent needs work, in any case, Gray was sweet, Mason was fine, it’s a good book.

If only Gray could have been a closet Dom!

Anyone else find themselves yawning every time Gray yawned? lol

To be honest I enjoy reading m/m romance where I can look at both MCs and desire them both - whether equally or not so equally (each has a quality that attracts me in different ways). I am amazed I could get heated at all with the sexy times between Gray and Hawk because from the former books I could only see Gray as a kid brother. I still can only see him as that and it was difficult to see him as a warrior and take him seriously.

To a certain degree we have to suspend belief with these types of romances but for Gray's story I found it more challenging than most. I think there are two things that could have helped Gray be more credible:

(1) If on the battlefield rather than succumbing to Sloth's demands for sleep Gray just took energy left and right from the enemies. We saw at the end of the battle that Gray took energy from his own precious mate and that energized him enough to kill a fallen Angel, attack Lucifer's son and save the day. I just have a hard time believing that all the 6 brothers are okay with taking Gray out to fight knowing he will get sleepy and fall asleep where he lay.
Gray's sin of Sloth could seriously have been a bad a$$ weapon against enemies had he utilized it correctly. Imagine, all he had to do was drain the will out of any and all around him. But then the battles would be too easy - yeah, yeah, I get it! lol....

(2) The 2nd thing might be a stretch, but I think it could've been done - Osborn is a great author so she could have made it happen - If Gray could have been revealed as a Dom in the bedroom. Yeah so what Hawk is taller and buffier - it still can be erotically, tastefully done in the right author's hands.

But at the end of the day I enjoyed Gray - with the great Nick J Russo at the helm 😘.

4 stars - I love the series but this particular book I won't read again.

Omg gray is so precious

Nephilim gray is the cutest character ever. I enjoyed this story so so much it pulled at my heart strings and gave me what I wanted for adventure they gave me comedy. It gave me so much emotions this book by far my favorite and add narrator Nick J Russo to the mix and it’s absolutely amazing, this story was very captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Can’t wait for the next one.
