Publisher's Summary

Something has stolen the darkling mage's face.

Reports of arcane theft and violence are pouring in from all over Valero. They all have one thing in common: a perpetrator who looks exactly like Dustin Graves. But Dust has been hanging in the hideout, barely out of sight of his bloodthirsty companions.

An impostor is clearly on the prowl, and soon a vampire clan, the Lorica, and even Dust's own allies are giving him hell for crimes he didn't commit. There's also the matter of finding an entity powerful enough to reforge Vanitas. But the darkling mage will pull through. Dustin always does. Well...except when he doesn't.

If you like snarky heroes, snappy dialogue, and a bit of grit and gore, you'll love the third book in Nazri Noor's series of urban fantasy novels. Explore the Darkling Mage universe and discover Grave Intentions today.

Did their homework.

I love when books dip into already known mythology. It’s all fine and dandy making up their own words for gods and creatures. I don’t mind learning terms of the authors universe. But I love when they are able to use Gods from different pantheons ie. Susanoo/Ametaratsu

Kudos to the story line. I’m hooked.

Great story. Great narration.

Dustin is still finding himself more trouble than he can handle!

The story was another action packed adventure full of mayhem and mishap. The characters are slowly developing into more complex people, and the plot is evolving. I look to seeing where Nazri Noor takes his characters next.

The narrator is perfect for this story.

And this is where the series hooks me in

So someone has stolen Dustin's face and is committing theft in Valero, and in some cases attacking Dust's friends. Dustin, having an alibi, gets the team together to figure out who or what is going on tarnishing his good name with his good looks. Dustin has to contend with a vampire clan, the Lorica, and his own allies. There's also the matter of reforge Vanitas, Dustin's literal closest friend.

The snarky and snappy dialogue are even better, and I believe that this book gets even darker, excuse the pun. Nazri Noor is really coming into his element here and it shows. Noor has really improved his weaving of story arcs here, and I am glad he stuck with it. Some of my favorite moments were Dustin really coming into his own concerning his magic, delving more into the other characters personalities and backgrounds, finding Dust's father, and experiencing the subtle world building Nor is developing.

Again, I'm pretty sure this series was made for Luke Daniels to narrate; perfect choice.

Luke Daniels is amazing bringing the characters to life. Nazri Noor is outstanding. If you want to just escape the world for a minute this series will take you on a ride you don't want to get off

Better than the last!

Nazri Noor is genius! No doubt about it.

Dustin is back, Snarky and sassy as ever and in trouble. Again. Nothing out of the ordinary for him though. It comes with the job! Magic is being stolen all over Valero and Dustin is to blame. Except that he 's not. Someone wears his face, and he is out to find out who. Dustin has subscribed to the "out of sight, out of mind" Paradigm but the Lorica and even his friends don't exactly believe he is innocent. Neither does the vampire clan who is now after him after his alleged theft. Add Vanitas, his broken sword and one time friend. He wants him reforged, but will the price be worth it? All these questions and more are answered in this non-stop thrilling adventure brought to bigger than life by Luke Daniels amazing narration.

Troublesome case of mistaken identity

This is the third book in this series and while it works as a standalone, anyone considering the book should check out the previous ones in the series first as you will more fully appreciate the characters and they are also extremely entertaining too.

This time round, Dustin is troubled by a number of cases of mistaken identity where thefts involving magical items are being carried out by people who look exactly like him and while this doesn't initially seem overly world-threatening at first, things get more troublesome as he investigates further.

Once again the narrator gives an extremely strong performance with a wide range of distinctive tones for the main character and a varied supporting cast.

Overall, another enjoyable instalment in this series and I can't wait for the next one to be released.
