Publisher's Summary

What’s a matchmaker to do when the husband-to-be rejects the bride? Again...

Widowed as a young wife, Cara Cargill turned her head for business and love of romance into a successful mail-order-bride enterprise. She’s never had a problem matching couples until one mule-headed man continues to refuse to wed the women she sends to meet him in Grass Valley, Oregon. In an effort to make a match that he’ll keep and uphold her sterling reputation, Cara is desperate to find the perfect bride.

Daisy: When her fiancé leaves her at the altar, Daisy Bancroft knows it is far past time for a change. Her dearest friend Cara offers to send her to a newly established town in Oregon, where possibilities abound and the grass is rumored to be as tall as a man’s head.

Daisy arrives with plans to wed Tagg Thompson, only to find the obstinate rancher has foisted her off on his best friend.

Birdie: Tired of waiting for her Mister Right to magically appear and whisk her away to a happily ever after, Bridget “Birdie” Byrne convinces her sister, a renowned matchmaker, to send her as the bride to Tagg Thompson.

The man who greets her upon her arrival isn’t Tagg, but Birdie is certain she’s finally discovered the man she is meant to marry.

Cara: Fed up with Tagg Thompson and his refusals of every bride she’s sent to Grass Valley for him to wed, Cara decides to meet the exasperating man in person. Her feet are barely on the ground in the rustic town before she’s nearly bowled over by a herd of stampeding cattle and swept into the brawny arms of a cowboy with the bluest eyes she’s ever seen.

Will true love find its home in the hearts of these Grass Valley brides?

A fun concept...

... and 3 enjoyable stories in one I'm not generally big into Western romance. I like them; they're just not my favorite subgenre. But I was drawn to this one because I liked the concept of the book - 3 novellas sharing an overarching plot where the 3rd one wraps it all up. And why did Tagg keep paying for mail order brides & matching them up with his friends instead? The romance is frequently cheesy, & you have a pretty good idea of what's going on though it's not till the final novella that you get the why, but it's still totally entertaining. Kind of like a really good made for TV movie. I also like that it's available as a read & listen book because I prefer to read but love that when I need to do things like mom taxi or household chores I can keep listening to the story. The narrator is really good with distinguishing the character's voices so that I never had difficulty figuring out who was saying what (and he has an awesome cowboy voice 🤠) *Romance level: passionate kisses, nothing graphic

Three swoony hero voices!

Comprised of three short stories, the writing is strong, with long, flowing passages describing the western setting in glorious detail, the stories cute and fun and that's all Jay Dyess needs to turn this into an absolute must-listen. The characters absolutely come to life with his unique, quirky voices. He builds a beautifully emotional, multi-dimensional story world that practically lives and breathes on its own. Perfect pacing, comedic timing that is spot-on and emotional depth. A sweet romance trio that has been eloquently voiced by a master storyteller

Wonderful stories!

Even though I had long figured out where these were going, I loved each one. Mail order bride shenanigans is the best way to explain these. The groom to be just couldn't be satisfied and kept matching up the ladies that were sent to be his bride with other men in town. You need to read these wholesome and fun books. Jay Dyess did a wonderful job narrating these. I listened too many books that he has narrated and they have been wonderful. I received free copy of this audiobook from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Lovely Mail Order Bride Collection

I really enjoyed these stories. I thought the author did a great job telling the stories and I liked how the narrator did all the voices. I liked that all the stories lead into each other and that they had a happy ending.

Great storyline

Shanna Hatfield has written 3 wonderfully entertaining books, and Jay Dyess has brought them to life! In the books, he has kept each of the voices separate from each other as the characters speak. I love the fact that these books are clean wholesome books.

Three books: Sweet, Clean, Western Romances

Stories (4.5 stars) This purchase includes 3 novellas, so you really get your money's-worth. That said, each book is delightful in its own way. Definitely part of a series and these are the last three books. They can be stand-alone's without a problem. The last book in the series was my favorite! Shanna Hatfield includes some elements that tie the three stories together and it's fun to figure those out, as one listens along! The romance is clean and the characters are given the time each needs to get to know one another. A bit formulaic, but that's hard to get away from in romance novels. Narrator: (4.5 stars) Excellent narration! I've heard this narrator many times and never tire of his voice. He truly sounds like a cowboy! Male voices don't sound the same between books: for example, the blacksmith has a lower timbre voice than the other male characters, even though he has a book to himself. Some fun women's voices, too! Mr. Dyess has expression, range and reads at just the right speed! I highly recommend him! *poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special

Taggart Thompson finally finds love

Three love stories involving mail order brides. Daisy , Birdie and Cara’s stories are so heartwarming, and Taggart Thompson is one rascal you will fall in love with. He keeps requesting a mail order bride but when they show up he matches them with another fellow. Loved each story but my favorite is Cara and Taggart's story. I listened to these on audible and loved them. Awesome ending.

Delightful fun.

This was 3 books in one. Sometimes even if (or maybe especially if) I can pick up clues and predict what might happen in a story, the story is all the more delightful for it. This was a story like that. It was well written and so much fun. Jay Dyess does an amazing job with the voices. Definitely a great escape story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

OMG what a great book and what a great narrator!

I don’t know how Ms. Shana Hatfeild Heard about this narrator J dice, but he just raise the bar for mail order bride narration by leaps and bounds, he took it from SAS food meal to a five-star dining experience. I read this book on Kindle and couldn’t wait to listen to it on audio as I love Miss Hatfield MOB books and when I heard the narrator start to read the book I was floored. I am so used to mainly women making these characters sound like cartoon characters and he not only turn them into people, but really good looking sounding people. He even did the female character spot on. Having said that I want to say I loved all three of these books I have nothing negative to say about any of the books I love Daisy story, birdies story and of course the Crim Dela creme caras story. I will say this though in the second book birdies story she had rants smelting iron without a shirt on and only a leather vest and although that made for a pretty visual no one in their right mind would do that without a shirt because every time you hit the iron shorts of heart molding iron balls in the air and that would land on the skin. That’s very unimportant and as I said it made for a great visual just not realistic. Now that all that is said I will say I highly recommend this book and OMG please let this man do your other books please please I love him so much!
