Dear Lady Truelove...

My twin brother and I need a new mother, though Papa insists he’ll never marry again. Must be nice, brainy, and fond of cats....

Lady Truelove may be London’s most famous advice columnist, but James St. Clair, the earl of Kenyon, knows his wild young sons need a tutor, not a new mother. They need a man tough enough to make his hellions tow the line, and James is determined to find one.

Miss Amanda Leighton, former schoolteacher and governess, knows she has all the qualifications to be a tutor. And while female tutors are unheard of, Amanda isn’t about to lose the chance at her dream job because of pesky details like that. If Lord Kenyon insists on hiring a man, then she has only one option....

Jamie isn’t sure what to make of his new employee until he realizes the shocking truth - beneath the ill-fitting suits, his boys’ tutor is a woman. An unconventional, outspoken, thoroughly intriguing woman. Despite Amanda’s deception, he can’t dismiss her when his boys are learning so much. Yet Jamie, too, is learning surprising lessons - about desire, seduction, and passionate second chances....

Second listening changed my mind

In my first review, I gave this book only 3 stars. But second listen garnered 5 stars. Laura Lee Guhrke is one of the best authors at creating delightful and creative stories that capture listener's imaginations. The characters in this book are interesting and relatable. I felt their happiness....and their pain. Well-done LLG and JE.

Pretty Fun Book

This was a fun book, I really enjoyed the kids antics more than anything. They were very clever in their misdeeds LOL.

I really liked Amanda. She was smart, pretty (even as a boy) and very clever herself. I liked Jamie too. There was some good chemistry between the two. There was some dialogue but there could have been more between the two.

The story line was good, even though there was a bit too much filler moments.

As for the narration, it was okay, I wish Carolyn Morris would have narrated this book as well as the second. She is more enjoyable to listen to than Justine Eyre.

You know what your getting with Justine Eyre. All the men sound the same, at least they sound like men so that is good, of course.

Wonderful beyond words

First off let’s just say Laura is one of the best writers out there among a few of the greats writing in this genre. The narrator Justine Eyre is one of my all time favorite narrators ever. She brings the characters to life in a way that you can picture what they look like, what they wear and how they live. I tend to listen to books following the authors but not only that I follow my favorite narrators. I absolutely love these series

enjoyable

I haven't read the two preceeding books in this series but probably will now. I thought there was more repartee than one of the previous reviewers.

Needed more relationship development

Needed more relationship development
Too much filler...not enough time spent developing the relationship between the characters. All the books in the series are basically the same exact outline...just slightly different characters and slightly different circumstances.

That being said...they are a mindless easy listen and pleasant..just not one you will remember for all time.

I gave each book the same review... because as I said earlier they are all so similar and have the same issues.

Each book would have been much better if the relationship was the focal point of story development. Seems each book had the H & H spending 70% of their time with other characters doing other things. It just felt like the relationships were forced to work....not allowed to grow naturally.

Excellent story

Entertaining, humorous (especially the boys) and we’ll written. This is a new author to me and I am definitely looking for more of her books. Justine E. Delivers her usual stellar performance to bring the characters to life.

Predictable

Good potential that was not fulfilled. Performance was fine. Doubtful I will read more of this author’s work.

Very satisfying book. Thank you.

Good plot development but a little too much introspective filler. Always enjoy Justine Eyre’s narration.
