Publisher's summary

I’m Jinx, a run-of-the-mill private investigator...except I’m also a walking, talking lie detector. Oh, and I belong to magical realm known as the Other.

Murder isn’t usually my gig, but when I’m hired to investigate the death of a dryad called Reggie, I agree to help out because I know his grieving widow. It should be an easy case to crack, a mugging gone wrong, but the murder scene photos show it was anything but. Reggie’s death has all the hallmarks of my parents’ murders so I’ll stop at nothing to finding his killers. It’s so important I’d even be willing to tag in Stone to help - if I could find him...

Reggie was into some bad stuff involving a drug called Boost. Take it, and you play Russian roulette because either you get high or you die. As the drug claims another victim, I find myself with a new sidekick who is determined to fight its evil influence and he just happens to be the king of the dragon community.

Now I have two deaths to solve and one suave dragon king along for the ride.

I need to find Reggie’s murderer.

I need to discover who killed my parents.

And I need to keep my distance from the charismatic dragon Emory, who refuses to take no for an answer...

My favorite series

I love this series. I love that Jinx is unshakable and doesn’t do obviously stupid things! I have listened to these books more than once! And the narrator of these books is phenomenal!

An Urban Fantasy I could get lost in!

Love this urban fantasy so much, and Alyse Gibbs’ voice truly captures Jinx …so great! The story just comes alive like a movie (just without picture). During Jinx meeting with Emroy, you can feel the tension that these two share so much more than just reading the story. 17+

Beautifully Entertaiming

Love these stories about Jessica Sharp and her hellhound Gato. And I absolutely love the narrator too.

Come meet Jinx!

Heather G. Harris is a new author to me. This was an excellent series!

Meet Jinx. Jinx has a private investigation agency and a Great Dane.
Then Jinx takes a job to steal a vase and discovers Dragons, Werewolves, Vampires, Witches and lots of other magical creatures.
If you like Paranormal Romance you will love this series. The intimate scenes are hinted at and not explicit!

In book 2 you find out there is a new love interest!
.
Each book ends in a cliffhanger but there is only 4 books in the series and it is complete.
I like Alyse Gibb's narration. This book takes place in London and Liverpool so it is narrated with a British accent.

These books were ARC copies and this is my honest review.

Fun Paranormal Fantasy

This is the second book in the series, and I enjoyed it as much as the first one. I was entertained by all the different paranormal beings that populated this story. The plot was creative and fast paced. I recommend this series to others who enjoy this genre; however, this tale does end on a cliffhanger. Alyse Gibbs' narration was compelling and fit the story well. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Fun Continuation of the Story

I'm enjoying the character development and intrigue of the overarching storyline slowly coming together. I enjoyed this book even more than book 1. I think a slow burn might be happening! Ohh lala... can't wait to see where that goes.

This is my first series by this author and I'm glad I found her. The narrator is great as well. I'm enjoying something other than an American accent, which is what most of my past listens have been.

Good read

As with the first book it is easy to love Jinx and the trouble she stumbles into. Hoping her love life takes off a little more as she opens up.

So so so good!!!

This story was fantastic! I don’t think I was bored for even one minute while listening. Not only does the story remain incredibly engaging, funny, and interesting, but the character development and plot line expansions are exciting because you can start to see all the possibilities for books for come. I’m really enjoying the world building and the underlying mystery/ case behind each book. So if you’ve made it this far to where you’re considering reading/ listening to this second book- just do it. You won’t regret it!
Okay. I have to stop typing this so I can go download the next audiobook in this series.

Great Series

Love the characters and storyline. Author does a good job giving enough information to get you involved but not so much that you are skipping pages.
