The Galactics arrived with their Battle Fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined a vast Empire that spanned the Milky Way.

More than a century has passed since the glorious day of Earth’s annexation. Struggling to hold on to a handful of planets in the frontier provinces, humanity is at war with Rigel. After the destruction of both our fleet and theirs, a time of quiet rebuilding has begun.

James McGill was hoping for a peaceful break in the conflict, but an opportunity to gain a significant technological edge arises. He’s summoned to Central and sent off to the stars, searching for a strange planet dotted with crystalline formations. There, the vicious apex predators from Rigel manufacture their impenetrable body armor.

McGill is sent to the new planet first as an agent, then at the forefront of Legion Varus. He must face death, evil aliens, and his own untrustworthy government. Find out who lives and who gets permed in Glass World, book 13 of the Undying Mercenaries series.

With over three million copies sold, USA Today best-selling author B. V. Larson is the king of modern military science fiction.

Awesome world building. And as much of a womanizer and liar old James McGill is, he's also brave and strangely principled, so I haven't tired of his continuing adventures. Love the narrator!

Great series

I have listened to every book in this series. Can’t get enough. I love BV Larson. Mark Boyett is the perfect narrator for this series. A must listen to.

if you are a fan of the series, this is more of the same. I enjoyed the humor, and style of writing. i seen others complaint its more of the same. I agree, I like hearing this kind of story, I like how other world's are brought into the story.

I'll start off by saying I don't agree with any of the negative comments. This book like all of them in the series is another great addition to James Mcgills endless life and Mark Boyett does an incredible job of bringing my favorite book character to life. The series always leaves me wanting more and it's the only series I've not only stuck with for so long, but also the only series that leaves me with the desire to go back and restart the series after every book. I have acted on that desire at least 3 times and I'm sure I will again soon. If B.V. keeps writing them I'll keep reading them.

Another gem

Mr Larson had fun with the idea of someone blinking involuntarily as a tell, and that when they were particularly shocked but otherwise nonplussed they would blink..... twice! Unfortunately, over the course of the past several books every character must have caught some stardust in their eyes because it has become a blinkfest! Every author develops rhythms, lingo, and catchphrases over time, but this one is not subtle and hits you like an unpainted speedbump in a dark parking lot. You know it's probably there somewhere, you just don't know when it's going to jolt you from your cruise. When you do hit it, you're more upset because you knew it was coming than because of any danger or damage.
The books are enjoyable and Boyett is masterful, but I guess nobody's perfect. After all, no plan survives first contact....

First, he blinked...

Finally a book where McGill actually does good, even if it was by the skin of his teeth. This is a fun book and make isolation so much easier.

McGill matures
