Publisher's summary

The girls make their final stand in this third and final novel in the thrilling, subversive near-future series from New York Times best-selling author Suzanne Young about a girls-only private school that is far more than it appears to be.

There is no one who can save your rebel soul....

The girls of Innovations Academy escaped the confines of their unethical school, fought against the system protecting predators who targeted girls for harassment, and they’re not done yet. They’re still not free.

Reeling from one revelation after the next, Mena and her friends begin to unwind the truth of their existence and, as a result, their destiny. The men from Innovations Corporation still hunt them, the woman who created them still wants control over them, and worst of all, Mena realizes that through all her pain, all her tears, the world of men has not changed. There is no more time to hope for the best. The girls know they are in a battle for their lives, a war for their very existence.

The girls of Innovations Academy have sharpened their sticks to fight back, they have fought for justice with blood from their razor hearts. And now, the girls will choose their true nature...and how they define their rebel souls.

After a horrible/extremely boring 2nd book we got a good finale

I love Caitlin Davies voice, and I love how she manages to give each character their own signature, but the writing is kinda choppy.
It does not flow (unfortunately that’s recurring in all the book of this trilogy) which it makes everything kinda dry. I don’t know how to explain this correctly.
Anyway, I love with all my heart the message of the book, and I like it even more that the end was a quite rational one.
She could’ve condensed the 2nd book (very unnecessary) in a few well written chapters and made of this a duology.

Suzanne Young did it again!!

I fell in love with Suzannes writing in the Program series. I saw this series & knew I had to give it a try. I highly recommend any of her books, paperback or audio! I really loved the narrator of this audiobook series too! Loved this story !

Amazing Series!

** spoiler alert **

This book follows the girls as they set out on the final steps they must take to destroy the corporation behind Innovations Academy and all of its atrocities. It’s a story of courage, love, sisterhood, determination, and fighting for what’s right.

I have a lot of thoughts about how all of the different plot points are wrapped up. First of all, while I found the end of Anton and the corporation a little underwhelming with just how little of a part the squad played in the death of the investors, I ABSOLUTELY loved Lennon Rose’s ending. I did not want to see her return to her original programming, and thought that she had a really creative storyline that seemed very fitting for her unhinged character.

Also, I was a huge stan of Leandra’s redemption at the end of the book. Seeing her stand up to Winston Weeks after he exposed just how much of a terrible person he was was incredibly satisfying. It was great to see that after everything, Leandra really was looking out for her girls!

This may be a controversial opinion, but while I do think that Jackson and Mena make a cute couple, I honestly would have liked him to be a stronger character. He plays a huge role throughout the series in presenting that not all men are bad and serving as a standard for what’s right, but he felt a little vanilla, especially with how strong the personalities of all the other characters are.

Of course, the social commentary was incredible. Looking at the world through the Mena’s unfiltered lens is always thought-provoking. It was great to see Annalise call out the power of rich white men, the role that society plays in perpetuating their positions, and the media frenzy that occurs on their behalf. She was my favorite character in this book, and I admire how much of a badass she’s become!

All in all, this was such an incredible series! I will definitely be re-reading it soon.
