Publisher's summary

The instant New York Times best seller and laugh-out-loud look at pop culture and social media stardom from one of the most popular funemployed millennials today, perfect for fans of Give Them Lala and The Betches.

As the creator of the breakout Instagram account @GirlWithNoJob, Claudia Oshry has turned not wanting an ordinary career into a thriving media company and pop culture-focused podcast and morning show. The origins of her pop culture obsessions can be traced back to household debates over boy bands and her flair for the dramatic to her young emulation of Blair Waldorf. When she started @GirlWithNoJob, Claudia entered that world as a social media influencer, sharing her unbelievable - and incredibly awkward - encounters with some of her favorite A-listers as she navigates her incredible access.

Now, in this juicy behind-the-scenes look at the life of an Instagram sensation, Claudia leaves nothing out as she contemplates staying true to yourself while hustling in today’s digital culture. Sometimes the best lessons are learned the hard way, and her journey hasn’t been without its punch-in-the-face doses of humility. But, like anyone with a relentless desire to be popular, she dusts herself off and finds a new, better way forward. With humor and unique insights, Claudia examines the nature of social media celebrity, the many sides of fandom, and cancel culture. If there’s one thing she knows for sure, she was born thirsty, and she’s here for another round!

Pretty boring

This is a pretty boring memoir from a self absorbed Instagrammer. Was hoping for a cute, funny book but this was a waste of money and time. Perhaps if you are a fan, you may enjoy it.

This book ain’t it sis

After being a loyal toaster for years, this book felt like revisionist history, attempting to paint a very different story of the “cancel culture” that has plagued her repeatedly over the last 5 years. I honestly really wanted to like this book and I was hopeful it could be a chance for her to show growth, change, and genuine reflection. Instead, it was full of deflection, finger pointing, and just tiptoed around the issues without ever facing them head on. Sadly, this book is just a big fat nothing-burger with no real meat in it.

Listened to the whole thing in one day

Claudia really poured her heart into this and hearing her tell her own story was very moving. I laughed, I was emotional, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done.

Finished in a day

I follow her podcast and was excited to learn how she got started. It’s a great read/ listen entertaining and filled in some gaps from the podcast. Plus it’s fun to see someone grow and evolve.

Love this Monster

Love this book. What a great Author. She is my youngest son’s age. So its awesome to see her view on life. I hope this makes it to the airports. Love the love of the sisters. I only started watching these girls during pandemic. So Im late. But such a joy to hear all the stories to fill in the blanks. Great book

Just ok.

While there were a few laugh out loud moments, overall I didn’t find this book very funny. There were some parts that were relatable, but many parts that felt too preachy for me. I give Claudia an A for her performance though.

Boring, lie-filled

Yawn. Another self important influencer with nothing valuable to say. It’s also disingenuous for her to call her mother “proudly conservative” when her mother is literally banned from multiple countries based on her extremist anti-Muslin activism.

Heartfelt, Moving & Authentic with Epic Stories!!!

The only thing sad about this book was that I finished it and there is no more to read for now. I started following Claudia online just before Yes to the Dress. which I watched... girls who want sleeves are more relatable to me! As a curvy Jewish girl that has chutzpah, I love the authenticity of Claudia Oshry and her book did not disappoint! Actually, I would say she made me a fan! I actually wanted to listen to this book 1st before reading it, because she was the narrator! Her heart and soul is in this book and it not only shows, she is beautiful! Absolutely heartfelt, moving and epic stories that show us it is best to be authentic! A toast to the wild one, Claudia! Berakhah ve Ahava, Rabba Jessica Stern Foster
