Having the skill to speak to the ghosts of the dead is usually helpful to a medical examiner, but not when the ghosts can't identify who killed them. Keeping Angus safe is Lance's first priority as he does everything he can to try and help fit the clues together and bring peace to those who have died.

Working together, Angus and Lance put everything else on hold as they follow the leads to find a cop killer. With the help of friends both living and dead, the puzzle slowly starts to fit together, but once they have all the pieces, can they find the killer before another officer is shot?

Close To Home

Here the mystery hits close to home as cops are the intended victims. Lance worries about Angus because of it. There are several moments that were tense (not angsty), which helped the story feel more high stakes. It’s an enjoyable read, and if you liked the previous four, you’ll enjoy being back with these characters. I thought the surprise at the end about a kid of one of the cops was cute. Greg D Barnett does a good job with the narration. He do not really use accents, which is disappointing since this is in Texas, but you can tell who is speaking and that’s the most important thing.

I'm obsessed with this series

I really enjoy this series. This one was a bit more suspenseful and I liked the twists.
