What Are you waiting for?!

Excellent book! Well written, funny at times and engaging. The author of this book is a world class entrepreneur, father and speaker.

Mixed feelings

The premise of the book is not to impart new knowledge, but to remind you of things you already know. This is made absolutely clear at the start of the book. In this respect, I felt the book performed well. However, I found some information oversimplified and I was still disappointed with the contents overall. The humour was enjoyable, but not nearly as entertaining as I thought it would be. I did like the bit in front of the mirror; I had a good laugh there.

Get a F*cking Grip

Definitely made me laugh several times. The first half of the book was good and then it just trailed off. It's worth a listen for a chunk of it. However, there came a point where it got so simple and "dumbed down" that I lost interest and stop returning to the book, which led me to return it. I would give the author a try again, but I want him to focus on a single topic or two, so it doesn't sound like a string of blog posts. The chapters are short, which can be good, so you focus on a specific message, however, after a while it was like.... I could have read that from my facebook feed by my smart buddy after he had a couple of beers. Then again, I'm still a serious MFer aren't I? Seriously though the author is funny and I wish I could've finished and loved it. You're probably gonna laugh. The singing out load and wiggling you bits in front of a mirror made me chuckle just now.

1970s thinking

Started out ok but as soon as it got to the "man up" section I gave up. It's such an old fashioned view that people should man up and not discuss problems with loved ones That shit is why suicide rates are so high.

Delightful!

Most of the books with any derivative of 'fuck' in the title have had little to add to the general well-being of the person or world. This book, however, is refreshing, deliciously witty, at times sarcastic and laugh out loud funny but drives home many a great point. The author also narrates which adds to the enjoyment, it a short book, easily finished in a day whilst going about ones other business! Recommended if only for the wit.

Outstanding

This is simply an outstanding book. Matthew Kimberely reminds me of Stephen Fry with his delivery. His delivery is deadpan and had me in stitches with some of his analogies and delivery. The content itself struck a chord with me. The content is accurate and more people need to understand that you only have yourself to rely on. I will he listening again once i have danced around my flat naked a few more times 😂

Absolute Waffle!

You know those product ads you get on the internet, where you have to scroll through pages of waffle, testimonials and general nothingness until you get to the bottom to find the inflated price, which you knew was coming? I feel that about this book. All waffle and no substance. Sorry!

This guy is desperate for people attention.

First of all I don't normally write reviews but by the time I reached the interlude. I had to remove it from my library and ask myself. What the hell have I been listening too. It got to a point where I started asking myself... feels like his mates wouldn't meet up with him at the pub so they can hear him rant about his life. I've heard better, The likes of Gary John Bishop. This audio book does in fact feel like a failed attempt to copy Gary JB. The title is ironic.

Dangerous for the gym!

Top notch story telling. Had me in fits with the dry humour. My cup of tea completely, however word to the wise a bit dangerous to listen to at the gym when messing around with weights. Also dropped the weights on my face from laughing 🙈👌👍

Witty, to the point, memorable and implementable advice

I like the fact the narrator is English, I find the delivery far more enjoyable to listen to than the Americans who speak slowly and in monotone.

I took action whilst listening to this and as a result, rescued a 10 year friendship that I thought was lost.

I have gained 3/4 hours back in my day due to removing distractions such as social media and Netflix etc from my phone.

I learned that my job is not who I am but what I do, which helped me to detach from this idea of me needing to be a certain someone before taking action. This is a biggie for me.

Also, this audible easier to comprehend and enjoy because there’s no intention to be overly philosophical and motivational.

For me this makes it more about the info and your experience and taking action rather than about what the narrator is trying to make you “feel” through tone. I don’t want to be made to feel good temporarily, I want to understand how I can actually improve.

This hits the spot.

Some of the info you would have likely known already, as is the case with all people interested in self-help/development, but it never hurts to hear it from a different perspective.

However, I’m certain you’ll hear new perspectives and will be motivated to take action.

This is one of my all-time favourites and will listen to it again immediately.

It was Included in my audible membership and so I didn’t have to pay for it but it is one of few I wish I could have paid full price.

this is brutal

a savage, cut throat book that bigs itself up, tells you nothing new (the author admits this himself) and puts you down throughout it. there are some helpful messages within it but it certainly isn't feel good.

Enjoyed this lighthearted romp through self help.

All the principles discussed are well known. Matthew Kimberley just put a middle English twist to it.

So disappointed

It sounded like it might be a lift hearted funny self help book, instead it’s reused and boooooooring
Really regret buying it and wish I could swap it for something not a wasted few precious hours of my life ..... I Was hoping my husband would enjoy the aspect, instead I feel like I’ve lost my chance to get him into audible
