Interesting read.

It wasn’t perfect but close enough. I’m retired but I can see where it could be helpful to anyone just starting the journey in the corporate world.

LOVED IT

I loved this book! I listened multiple times and kept going back to each section to hear specific parts again. I especially loved the section about YQMB it was so easy to follow and I will definitely use that method over and over with my own goal setting. Thanks Lauren, from a fellow Lauren just trying to get it together ✌️

Common sense and a lot of fluff

There are definitely some tips in here that can be beneficial for one's productivity, but dang, there's a whole lot of the author's personal "how to be a girlie girl" fluff, too. But maybe I'm focusing on that because the end of the book was full of superfluous, unrelated content. Also, I didn't care for the author's tone- it reminds me a little of a 90s valley girl (I'm not meaning to be harsh there; I just can't think of how to adequately describe it otherwise). Again, some useful nuggets here, but not worth the purchase, in my opinion.

“It’s not about having it together, it’s about getting it together”

Lauren did such a fantastic job with this book that I think any age can relate and find something to take away. It was both inspiring and fun, an easy to read and enjoyable self-development book that I would happily recommend to anyone wanting make some changes in their life. I personally found a change with how I organized my notebook. I am someone who struggles to plan out my day as an entrepreneur and Lauren sharing exactly how she uses hers to organize was helpful for me and inspired my own version.

Promotes freudsters

Although she sounds like a blonde millennial, I feel like I couldn't discriminate based on her Californian accent, so I gave this book another try.

I was starting to give up again, until I listened to a section about planning, which caught my interest, so I decided to hit pause and check out who she's talking about.

I personally have never heard of Brooke Miccio and Belinda Selene in the planner community, but what I wasn't expecting to see was that Belinda Selene is passing off her stickers that she's selling as her own artwork! I clearly recognise some of the designs have been created by other artists, such as Tanya Kart. I know that there are extra licences to sell other people's designs, but to call it your own when it's not, is disguisting!

Reads Like a Teenager’s Blog Compilation

I’m sorry, I really wanted to like this book. I just couldn’t. It reads like a bunch of immature blog posts slapped together for a money grab. I assumed the author must be younger than me because of the naïveté, but was surprised to find she is not— yikes.

As an actual working mom with a professional career looking for practical advice on ways to “get it together” and be more productive at home and at work, this book is trash. Advice like “get more sleep” or “turn off your phone” or “make time to sit poolside and relax” are over simplified and laughable at best. If your entire career revolves around being a social media influencer, maybe this applies? But not to the rest of the population.

I noted perhaps two nuggets of wisdom that I found interesting, but both were from other authors (mentioned in passing within this book)— not from this author. I will be seeking out their titles instead. This read was a waste of time and an audible credit. Sorry, girl... Still don’t have it together.
