Excellent
What a wonderful treat to find a Four Horsemen novella included for free in my Audible membership!
Great (short) backstory as to how Earth's entrance into the Galactic Union & the world of the Four Horsemen came about.
I only wish it were longer.... not because it needed to be, but because it was so well done and enjoyable to listen to.
The Four Horsemen Series is one of my absolute favorites in the military sci-fi category & serves to remind me how much I've had to settle for. I wish Audible had more quality series like these for voracious readers.
The narrator does an excellent job & sets the perfect tone for the material.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I'd rate this a 9 or 10, as these books are so far above most of what I've come to settle on as 5 stars. There's mainstream 5 stars & then extra exceptional 5 stars and the Four Horsemen is one of the few series, that along with maybe another dozen or so are just that much more my favorites of the favorite!
When the only complaint I have is I wish there was more to listen to, that's a 5 star that shines brighter than the rest & this is one of them.
Can't speak to how I'd feel if this was the first I'd heard, but it was most enjoyable when heard after finishing the rest of the series to date (7/2021), yet I think I'd definitely want to hear more and be immediately on my way to the Audible Store to get Book 1.

An enjoyable prequel!
Sort of a prequel filling in information about how earth became part of the Galactic Union. I would have enjoyed it as a full book fleshing out what happened next which is only mentioned in the other books.

Well voiced.
Professionally preformed. The story is acceptable if short. I'll probably listen to it again soon.

Along with his old friend Kal, Martin joined Cartwright’s Cavaliers, humanity’s best merc company. Life was exciting! But he got bored. Again.
