Publisher's Summary

Twenty-two-year-old Garnet Adams longs to marry and have a houseful of children. Forced to support her widowed mother, she embraces her role as a teacher, although the Carrie Town board of education's rules for female teachers leave no opportunity for a social life. She contents herself playing the violin at church.

Tall, bearded, and rough around the edges, Deputy Noah Scott would rather hunt than socialize. Garnet thinks he’s a rude, insensitive drifter, and Noah's sure the last person he'd want to court is a schoolmarm - especially with her unladylike sneeze. As the needs of her students bring them together, opposites seem to attract until a certain Christmas present derails their future.

Sweet but Vanilla

The story overall was a sweet one; the story would be more captivating with a more expressive narrator.

Delightful

Garnet’s Gift is a delightful story with realistic characters and a believable storyline. It is well written and flows nicely. The performer was fabulous in her narration. Her voice changes for characters and even singing were great.

Garnet’s Gift

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Noah and Garnet’s Yale was of a much simpler time, and I found it very refreshing to hear how conventions of the time were so very different. Today’s young women would be appalled with such stringent rules. Lol.

School teacher and Deputy

Set in the 1800’s this romance follows the school teacher with all the school board rules, and the journey of love with the local deputy. She was not looking for love and the rules made it difficult but in the end love wins.

The Life & Rules Of A School Teacher

The rules for being a teacher were strict, proper behavior at all times. There social life was just more duties, let alone dating. Opposites attract, and was tested, good story. This was well narrated and portrayed by the audio ARC I got for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

A Tender Romance

Garnet is a school teacher who must work to help support her mother and her aunt. Every chapter begins with one of the rules for schoolmarms, which I found interesting and often terribly unfair.

Noah is the deputy in town. He isn’t interested in settling down, and especially not with a straight-laced school teacher. But Garnet surprises him because she is very different from what he had expected.

This is a tender romance that gently moves along. There isn’t a lot of tension until about the fourteenth chapter. It’s a sweet story that has a romantic ending readers will enjoy.

Loved this!

Loved this story. Oh so many rules for teachers back in the day. This historical romance was sweet and clean and left you feeling good. Small town, neighbors helping neighbors. The narrative on this was excellent!

I received a free copy and this is my honest review.
