Story
There may be no happy endings, but there is plenty to discover and obsess over in this behind-the-scenes fan guide to the Game of Thrones HBO series. Did the show affect George R.R. Martin’s ability to finish the book series? Why were the Stark direwolves all but cut from the show? Spanning every episode across all eight seasons, The Unofficial Guide to Game of Thrones explains scenes that don’t follow Martin’s books, and sheds new light on the themes, storylines, character development, the meaning of the finale, and what fans can expect next.

It was supposed to be impossible. George R.R. Martin was a frustrated television writer who created his best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy novels to be an unfilmable saga bound only by the limits of his vast imagination. Then a pair of first-time TV writers teamed with HBO to try and adapt Martin's epic. We've all seen the eight seasons of the Emmy-winning fantasy series that came next. But there is one Game of Thrones tale that has yet to be told: the 13-year behind-the-scenes struggle to pull off this extraordinary phenomenon.

The Happiness Hypothesis is about ten Great Ideas. Publisher's Summary
This thought-provoking anthology offers a close examination of the psychology behind the intricate narrative and compelling characters in author George R.R. Martin's best-selling work, A Song of Ice and Fire, and the popular HBO TV series based upon his books, Game of Thrones.
In Martin's richly detailed world, deceit, manipulation, and greed rule the day, and almost everyone fights for power over the realm or simply over their own lives. How do love and hate, good and evil, need and greed, altruism and narcissism drive the very best and very worst human behaviors? With no moral boundaries honored, the psychological games played by the series' conniving protagonists are seemingly limitless. Game of Thrones Psychology: The Mind Is Dark and Full of Terrors explores motivations, relations, personality disorders, psychopathy, trauma, and much more. What kind of person can survive the game of thrones, much less hope to win?

Interesting analysis but awful narration
As a psychology major, I was so excited to listen to this book and as a book it is very interesting. The author cites multiple big-name psychologists’s theories and connects them with game of thrones characters in an easily understandable way. Though I enjoyed the content and will probably be looking for the book in text version, I couldn’t finish the audiobook. The female narrator who reads a portion of the chapters was impossible for me to listen to. She really sounds like a text-to-speech bot or some even more robotic-sounding Siri. While the male narrator was great, I found myself skipping chapters just to avoid listening to the female narrator speak and I ended up returning the book :( I would definitely recommend the book but maybe not this version
