Super fast, somewhat shallow, but one good ride!

This book is immediately compelling. Readers are dropped into be middle of a typical bully and victim situation that suddenly turns deadly. With flash forwards to senate hearings that intrigue the scientist is is all, readers find themselves asking thick questions about he fast plot.
The characters are not fully developed, but we find out just enough to make them rounded and cause us to care for them.
I highly suggest this book for children in fourth through sixth grade. Children in seventh and eighth with lower reading skills may find its content interesting and readable at their level.

Amazing Read

Amazing Read, Fuzzy Mud is not what you would think, the struggling boy, causes trouble in his little school. To later find out he made two very special friends. You have to read, this book, I would like to use this book in my class to give kids a better understanding of bullying and give them someone to identify with.

AMAZING

This book was mystifying! I love Louis Sachar’s stories and the worlds he creates within them, but Fuzzy Mud was the first book I read written by him that made me feel something - rather multiple somethings. The ending portion spoken by Louis Sachar gets you thinking about the layers of the story, bringing more meaning to it. I recommend this book for diligent readers, above the age of 9-10. Beautiful book, quality narration, and fantastic characters. 2 * 1 = 2. 😉

This book makes you want to go into the wood and fight for something. I rated it all dive stars because it is well read, a good story, and great theme! I think that Fuzzy Mud should be read by every body. Also a great gift

Fuzzy Mud

I listened to this book for a book club. The narration of this story by Kathleen McInerney is so engaging. Now as I read it aloud to my students, I love hearing the their reactions to what is unfolding, their questions, and their predictions. I also loved that Louis Sachar read a personal message at the end of this recording! “AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY”

Loved by our 9 and 10 y.o. kids!

Our son and daughter are Sachar fans and very much enjoyed hearing this story...The whole family listened to Fuzzy Mud while on a road trip.

Kathleen McInerney portrayed all of the characters in a way that brought them to life. Her narrative style is both accessible and engaging. The full cast chapters effectively set up the tone appropriate for a hearing.

The subject matter (a potential public health disaster in which kids are the first to be infected ) may prove to be on the scary side for younger kids, but should prove engaging for tweens. This listen made for great family follow up discussions!

Family friendly and thought provoking

One of the most suspenseful Sachar books we've listened to as a family, Fuzzy Mud raises discussion topics that stick with you for a long time. He is one of our favorite authors for long trips and this story kept teens and adults in my car on the edge of their seats.
The reader is skilled and the twists of the story are wonderful. We recommend this highly.
