Tara Walker dreams of more excitement than slinging plates of seafood for Cape Cod tourists, but as she learns when she is attacked and forced to fight for her life, fate sometimes has a funny way of giving you exactly what you wish for. Faced with strange new powers and embroiled in a murder investigation, Tara must now race to uncover the secrets of the ancient Fury that has woken inside of her - and of the evil that stalks her.
As if Tara's life hasn't gotten complicated enough, she is forced to ally herself with Jackson Byrne, witness to her assault and uncle to a pint-sized oracle whose fate is intertwined with hers. Skeptical, stubborn, and oh-so-sexy, Jackson wrestles with demons of his own. He is determined to ignore the attraction rising between them even faster than the body count, but like it or not, he and Tara need each other if they are to unravel the mysteries that surround them.

Narration of the audio was acceptable but the audio quality was lacking. There was a background static that distracted me from the audio for the first few hours of the book. Then it sort of fade or I just blocked it out. Afterwards, I had to go back and listen to the book a second time because I enjoyed the story but was a bit put off by the sound quality of the audio.
Fear the fury in the alley . . .

I absolutely loved this brilliantly, well written, paranormal romance that started out crazy wild and maintained that level of surprise and intensity throughout. The characters are outstanding and all so well developed and each is interesting in their own way.
I don't want to give any more away than you can glean from the synopsis because this book really deserves to deliver every punch that it packs. With shocks, surprises and Tara's fabulous dry sarcasm in the face of everything she has to face, this audiobook really is the gift that keeps giving!
Elizabeth Tebb is an outstanding voice actor. While maintaining individual and recognisable voices that suited each character, Elizabeth draws us into the excitement of the story that Nicola has written. She brings attitude, intensity and completely drew me into this brilliant story.
I truly did not want this audiobook to end and I hope that Audible don't hang around and that the rest of this series is available a.s.a.p! I will be the first in the queue when they become available.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Nicola R. White. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
Outstanding. I want more!

HEA with No cliffhangers!
This is a connected series, with interacting characters, places, and themes. I would recommend reading these in order.
Content Advisory:
There is sex, dirty talk, and cursing. 👍 This is action packed so things are all part of the action.
There is a attempted rape scene in the beginning.
If you like Mythology, you are going to love this title! Lots of Greek lore that isn't touched on as much, which is refreshing. The Furies take front and center, and they are pretty bad-ass!
Hell has no Fury like a woman scorned!
This series focuses on 3 Hot Messes of roommates that are also BFFs. They will come to inhabit a Fury to ultimately stop a big bad, maybe more than one, that is coming into our world. Well, that is over simplifying it, because these ladies are pretty bad in their own right. Alecto, Fury of Vengeance, finds her home in Tara. The shadow cat Fury of Jealousy, Megaera, finds a fitting home in Alex. While the slightly more logical Fury or Murder, Tisiphone, finds a home in Rach. Apate, Eris, and Keres are all mentioned as the potential foe, so not for sure if there is going to be more than one Top Villain, or all three.
Fury's Kiss focuses on Tara Walker the waitress. Once this story gets going, its hard to put it down. There is a little bit of everything that makes a great Paranormal read. There is romance, some laughs, adventure, the girlfriends you wish you had, super awesome powers, plus all the great bits of mythology you know and love. Plus some that I knew about but not in as much detail as I do now!
The Gang comes together quite quickly. You are introduced to all the major players of the the first 3 main books so I would suggest reading in order, as there are tid-bits that help fill out a character's profile that you would loose if you start in the middle. Only #01 is in audio at this moment, but there are plans to get the others out soon. That's about the only bad thing I can say about this title and series. The E-Books are available on Amazon for all that is currently written, just not audio.
Nicola R. White has created some awesome characters I just can't get enough of. 😊 I can't wait for the rest of the series to make it to audio. This was my first listen and won't be my last!
This was my first listen by Elizabeth Tebb. I could totally get lost in the story which is what you want from narrator. I did not like the Cajun accent for Ty. I grew up in the area that accent comes from and it did not work for me. Luckily it's not used much.
Normal speed was fine, however I listened at 0.90x. It is my personal preference.
Audiobook obtained at my request and I am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review.

What An Exciting Story, I Want More!

I found Fury's Kiss intriguing and enjoyed the mystical aspect of it. Having our main character suddenly display special superpowers starts the book off with a bang, and it slowly unravels the mystery as Tara learns about the fury goddess inside her and her new abilities.
With the help of her "Scooby gang" group of friends and allies, including a young girl who is legit an oracle, our fury "snake lady" takes off after the big bad.
I loved that the big bad wasn't revealed right away, and even when he was, there was so much more to the story. The truth was so much darker. And more epic, of course.
My main complaint is when stories have a romance like this one - one of them denying their feelings and being quite the jerk about it. The let me give into my primal urges right here in the backyard and immediately say oh no but we can't be together - it drives me nuts, especially since it's such a common romance trope. But the sizzle between them was serious and spicy.
I definitely enjoyed the audiobook narration. The different accents and voices given to each character were great, and the voices fit each character's mood and age well. One to add to the listen again list for sure.
Exciting paranormal full of ancient magic

This was a solid start to a series. The world building was good and I really felt empathy for Tara. Being thrust into a completely new and odd world is stressful enough, but then add to that the guilt and horror of having taken someone's life. Yes, the guy's actions were completely awful, but Tara wrestles with the guilt of literally sucking the life out of him.
The romance between Tara and Jackson was explosive. I pictured Dean Winchester for Jackson. Protective, suspicious of everything but has a good heart and wants to do the right thing. He's furiously (get it? haha) protective of Ruby and I loved it. I was rooting for him and Tara from the moment he walked into the bar and she laid eyes on him.
Tara's roommates were the best. Their personalities are so different but they all mesh so well together, probably because they are so different. I love how fiercely supportive they were. I don't think Tara would have handled everything being thrown at her as well without them.
Last but certainly not least, the narrator. She was really good. Not the best I've listened to but certainly not the worst. I will absolutely search out more books read by her.
