Fünf Kinder und es ist ein Kinderroman von englischem Autor E. Nesbit. Es wurde ursprünglich 1902 im Strand Magazine unter dem allgemeinen Titel The Psammead oder The Gifts veröffentlicht. Von April bis Dezember erscheint jeden Monat ein Segment. Die Geschichten wurden dann zu einem Roman erweitert, der im selben Jahr veröffentlicht wurde. Es ist der erste Band einer Trilogie, die The Phoenix and the Carpet (1904) und The Story of the Amulet (1906) enthält. Das Buch war seit seiner Erstveröffentlichung nie vergriffen.
