Fruit Pie with a Side of Murder

Life goes on for these two, but once again get thrown into a murder investigation and a personal relationship takes a hit. I loved listening to this mystery just as much as the previous ones and want to see what comes next. I missed that their wasn’t as much family interaction in this one but that’s how real life is sometimes so makes sense it would be like that in a book. Narration was done really well also.

A wonderful cozy.

Sabrina’s father Walter wants a relationship but things are not so great between them. Then Roger Osgood has been released from jail and you guess it there is a murder that David and Sabrina have to deal with. This is another great cozy mystery by Meredith Potts. The author has given the reader so many suspects and such wonderful twists. You will love this cozy! Lili Dubuque was great as the narrator.

Echoes from the past

Sabrina Carlson feels like she's juggling firecrackers. The father who deserted them when she was a little girl has suddenly reappeared and says he wants to reconnect but also asks for money. An old case comes back to disrupt the community when the Ponzi scheme perpetrator is out of prison and back in town. And then the reprobate is found dead in suspicious circumstances. As she sleuths alongside her police detective husband, it gets discouraging because there are so many people hurt by the scheme. Intriguing and fast paced clean cozy mystery!
Lili Dubuque is a fine narrator!

Not bad

This is my second book by Meredith Potts in the Treasure Cove cozy mystery series. I don’t like the narrator very much, but the story and characters are interesting. I was given a free copy of this audiobook for my honest opinion. Worth a read in between books for a little mental cleansing.

Short & Sweet

Short, sweet, and clean. Good for the YA audience. This mystery is a little simple for the adult audience. Not a complex investigation. Does delve into families trying to re-unite after decades apart.

Roger Osgood was convicted of running a Ponzi scheme and was sentenced to only 5 years in prison. His scheme cheated over 30 Treasure Cove residents. To everybody's surprise, not only is he being released, he plans to stay in Treasure Cove after his release.

This doesn’t go over well. Roger turns up dead. Was it suicide? Read to find out.

Walter Cobb, Sabrina's biological father, gets in touch with her after decades of having no communications with her or her mother. What is he up to?

Strengths of the book – golden rule, family relationships.

I listened to this book while doing chores around the house. I would not recommend listening while driving. The cadence did get me sleepy.

This book is no pie crust

I liked this story as it is a nice easy cozy mystery that doesn't tax the brain with a complicated plot line and with it being short it is great for a car or train ride.
When a prisoner is released from jail Sabrina's gut tells her there is going to be trouble. Roger went to prison for being the master mind behind a ponzi scheme that cost a lot of people there hard earn money and not everybody is happy with his short jail sentence. Sabrina's gut turns out to be right and it is not long before he is receiving death threats but worse is to come and it is not long before she is standing over his dead body. With plenty of very angry suspects Sabrina and her husband have there work cut out for them to narrow the suspects down to one.
The narrator is the same one used for the other books in this series and she is okay but she sounds excited all the time or like she is finishing every sentence with a question.
