A Thriller & A Christian Romance
This was my first experience with Karen Randau's work, and it was good. Kelsey White ran from her ex-husband's family, and she lived a quiet life in the imaginary city of Peach Blossom, Oklahoma. Gregorio Moreno used extreme sports to forget about his ex-wife's disappearance. On their first date, they saw someone murdered, and the two of them went into hiding. The story had some tense moments and some unexpected twists. Although it wasn't necessary to have read the first book, I did feel that I missed some of the initial interaction between the two characters and therefore, didn't develop as deep of a connection as I might have. Sharon Huff's narration was fine, but there were times when her performance lacked expressiveness. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
