A falling out led to years of estrangement, but when Brian returns to Dare Valley after trying to make it big as a chef in New York City, Jill's determined to make amends. She's convinced that starting a restaurant together will be the perfect win-win situation, allowing her and Brian to work together and play together.

After a series of missteps sliced and diced Brian's career in the Big Apple, he came home to regroup and find himself. He's convinced that reestablishing his connection with Jill, the girl who got away, will put his life back on track. And when she approaches him with her plan for going into business together, he's certain it's the one way he can have it all-his dream job and his dream girl.

Jill and Brian are falling for each other all over again when Brian's ex sashays into town, intent on sabotaging their reunion. Add in a mysterious investor who's determined to get Jill on board with his project, and the bond between the couple is tested to the limit.

Annoying listen

A frustrating read. Story was set up as strong characters yet some choices did not represent this. Found it annoying a lot of the time. Just wanted it to end. Jill in her decision making processes felt wrong for the strong character she was set up to portray. Her sister Meredith was too controlling and annoying. Ended up not liking the characters.

Don't Bother

Honestly I don't think I've ever disliked anyone as much as Jill. She was awful.

Could’ve been better

The Jill character ruined the book for me. I really disliked this character, petty, self righteous, insecure, selfish...I cannot say enough about the mistake of making her the main character.

Good wholesome read

I was apprehensive getting this group of books by Ava Miles, but I am so glad I did. I love books that are in a group I have read many trilogies and wished they would write another. I am not done with this group that Ava wrote but I will buy more for sure. Can’t wait to start the next book. Read from book 1, Nora Roberts Land, I picked that book because I love Nora Roberts so the title had me enthused and I really liked it. If you too like Nora Roberts definitely start with that book, I guarantee she will have you hooked!

Didn't really like the lead character

As other reviewers have noted, Jill just wasn't a very likeable character. The rest of the book was good, but I never connected with her.
