Publisher's Summary

Colonel Sean Quinn is stranded in another universe, along with 2,000 people under his command. They've been hiding from the enemy long enough, now it’s time to return home. Outnumbered against a superior foe, Sean must risk everything in a daring operation, but the mysterious enemy has a few surprises of their own.

Meanwhile, a division threatens to tear the colony apart and Connor Gates is caught in the middle. Their best chance to prepare for a formidable multidimensional aggressor is to form an alliance with one of their victims, but the more they learn about New Earth's inhabitants, the more resistant to an alliance the colonial government becomes.

When a shadow group seeks to undermine the alliance, Connor must do what he swore he would never do in order to protect the colony. For Connor, the stakes have never been so high or so personal. The price will be paid by everyone if he fails.

Fracture is the eighth book in the best-selling military science fiction series, First Colony.

I liked the book, the Peformance was realy good,
The any problem is the wait time between books, a year between books is too long. I would like to see more book alot fast.

Not my favorite.

I found the story rough to listen to. it had a lot of filler then would reach a point where it all just came together and it was done. if you intend to keep the Captain Blige Quinn. Well for me the character is not worth redemption. Not sure where the story goes from here but it looks like a tragedy and I hate those. Not really wanting to listen to the inevitable failure of the species due to fear, duty and plain stupidity. I'm hoping the next book can salvage at least half of the story and I might continue to finish the series. If not I'll probably shy away from this author in the future. Sorry can't help it you wrote well enough to get me invested in your story then to have it start to crap out ticks me off. Good luck and I hope your next book is one I just can't put down.

Enjoyable story...however...

I don't watch television series because they often end up like a soap opera...always leading to the next show. I prefer it when the show ends each episode with a conclusion, and a new story starts.

This book series is similar, always ending without an ending, waiting for the next book. Good for the author's sales, but not to my liking. I kept with the series because of the story but would have preferred it to be a trilogy or at least end each book, and start the next one with a new story.,

Still, I gave it five stars.
