Publisher's Summary

She was unquestionably a lady. Still, that had never stopped him before. He could see that she was not, he thought, that young. Even better. Another twinge of pain from behind his eyes lent a harshness to his voice. "Who the devil are you?" In no way discomposed, she answered, "My name is Caroline Twinning. And if you really are the Duke of Twyford, then I'm very much afraid I'm your ward...."

Max Rotherbridge couldn't believe it. Along with the dukedom of Twyford, he - London's most notorious rogue - had inherited wardship of four devilishly attractive sisters! Including the irresistible Caroline Twinning. The eldest Twinning was everything he had ever wanted in a woman, but even Max couldn't seduce his own ward...or could he? After all, he did have a substantial reputation to protect. And what better challenge than the one woman capable of stealing his heart?

Nice easy read

What did you love best about Four in Hand?

I liked that it was a nice lovely story without all the endless explicit sex that Laurens usually has that gets old and boring after awhile.

Have you listened to any of Ashford MacNab’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ashford MacNab is one of my favorite narrators.

Any additional comments?

Sometimes I want a light and entertaining story that is not so intense, and that I can sit back and listen and enjoy, and this fit the bill.

A Lot Of Fun

The story is funny and the narrator is perfect! Even though I've both read and listened to this book before, I still enjoy sitting back to enjoy this romp! There are a many 'laugh out loud' moments, too.

Good listen

A cute book that was easy to listen to. I loved the narrator her voice was uniquely nice and she didn't use that weird whisper type voice that so many of the the romance narrators use. The narrator definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

The Rouge had no idea lol

I loved this story, a bad boy rouge who believe he is untouchable when it comes to marriage and all his bad boy friends little do they know those days are coming to a end.
Yes not much details of their love making skills but oh so delightful will not disappoint.

Cute, original story.

A well-known rake wakes up one morning to discover he is now the guardian of four gorgeous, sweet heiresses. Let the chaos commence! I've read/listened to this book repeatedly. I cheered for both male and female characters. Nobody is obnoxious or rude or brooding.... Definitely a must read. (There are a few love scenes, not too offensive and easily skipped past. Don't let that keep you from reading this adorable story.)

Completely uninteresting

I know it’s a shocker but in this romance the 4 heros all end up with their heroines. Ok since I am not giving that part away I need to tell you that all 4 sisters elope and all have sex before that and it all happens on the same afternoon while their chaperone is God knows where. Trust me I am not giving anything away except trying to save you from hours of torture. 4 men meet 4 amazing women who were absolutely gorgeous on top of it all and the nerve of them to want marriage before they gave it away to rakes. None of the heros wanted to get leg shackled and 2 wanted to make 2 of the gently raised women into their mistresses when the ladies were the toast of the Ton. Stupid storyline does not say enough to do this ridiculous storyline justice.

I enjoyed the performance. I wasn't let down!

I enjoyed the performance. I wasn't let down! This book is one that I go back and reread often. So I was a little nervous about listening to it. I'll be re-listening to this book too!

Not what I expected

This book was boring, No real excitement, no passion. The only redeeming element is the narrator. She's excellent every time

Not Enjoyable!

While the story line was OK, the narrator was terrible! It was difficult to stay awake. The narrator had no harmony or variation in her voice. She made the book so boring that I could barely get through.

This is a easy review....

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This book!!!
Loved the performance by Ashford McNab.
Loved the characters.
Loved all the story lines.
Loved the endings!

If you like Stephanie Laurens, if you like historical romance and happily ever afters... Then you will love it too!

CREDITWORTHY : YES!

HEAT FACTOR: Surprisingly low... not much sex to speak of but a good deal of prelude. Nothing explicit. But still verrrrry good!
