Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? Though, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Fifteen years ago, I fell for Jack O’Donnell. I was just a girl, but I knew my brother’s best friend was the only man I’d ever love. On my 18th birthday, when I asked him to kiss me, I never imagined it would change my life so completely. I gave Jack everything that night. In order to move on, we had to go our separate ways and pretend like nothing happened...as though it wasn’t the greatest moment of my life. But even that wasn’t as heartbreaking as the secret we were forced to keep.

He was gorgeous, older and guarded. I knew he was trouble from the moment we locked eyes. We met at work, on my first day as a barista. He smiled, I melted...then he tasted my coffee and threw it away. Again, the next day, and the next. He hated the coffee, yet still came back. I knew his game. He called my coffee death in a cup. Publisher's Summary
When a gorgeous young dancer walks through his door, a strip club owner must decide whether to follow his rules or his heart in the third novel by the author of One Tiny Lie and Ten Tiny Breaths.
Owning a strip club isn't the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine-year-old Cain is starting to second guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict "no sleeping with the staff" rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain's self-control…and it's been a long time since any woman has done that.
Twenty-two-year-old Charlie Rourke needs a lot of money, really fast, in order to vanish before it's too late. Taking her clothes off for men makes her stomach curl but Charlie tells herself that at least she's putting her acting and dancing skills to good use. And though her fellow dancers seem eager to nab their sexy, sophisticated, and genuinely caring boss, she's not interested. After all, Charlie Rourke doesn't really exist - and the girl pretending to be her can't get distracted by romance.
Unfortunately, Charlie soon discovers that developing feelings for Cain is inevitable, and that those feelings may not be unrequited - but losing him when he finds out what she's involved with will be more painful than any other sentence awaiting her.

Engaging, Sexy, Addicting, and Simply Amazing!
Four Seconds To Lose was a phenomenal addition to one of my favorite series! From the very first page, this book started strong. It had a totally fresh concept and a very different vibe than the first two books despite fitting in well with the series. I really love it when an author is able to keep a series like this going and still deliver something completely unique each time. Cain and Charlies story was beautiful. It was a story of two people who have grown up in bad circumstances beyond their control and how they choose to overcome it. We never really learned a lot about Cain in the first two books and I must say I fell head over heels for him. Such a beautiful man with a tainted past. I loved that he was such a strong man just wanting to help those around him. Trying to right the wrongs of his past and upbringing. He had so much depth that I really wasn't expecting. I loved learning his back story. Then we have Charlie. I was unsure of what to expect from her; she was an enigma to me at first. But she turned out to be an amazing female character. The strength she shows in you decision-making process was beautiful. The book really kept me on my toes and I found myself biting my nails during a few parts. I love how each story line is different in this series and I adore all the fabulous characters in these books. If you're looking for sexy, heartfelt and well-written New Adult romances, this is a great series to try. I highly recommend all the books.

An honest to God superhero! Captain save-a-ho!!
In spite of myself, I really enjoyed this one. I love Caine! There are so many times and so Many people that I wanted to yell at in this book.
The friends, the Hero and the heroine. She was so naive and in such a dangerous profession that I am not sure how she survived that long.
The angst in this book kept me on the edge of my seat through out.

Wow what an Intense Smoking Hot Exciting story !!
Any additional comments?
Cain is a 29 year old strip club owner who has a mission. A mission to save women who pass by his club. I must say that he is a panty-drooling supppper Hot Alpha Male. He's also sweet but at the same time he comes across as a little dangerous and a bit dark. You just have to swoon over him. Charlie Rourke is a stunning 22 year old who needs quick money. Stripping to get it is the fastest way she can think of. Charlie needs it so she can get the new identity and life that she so desperately want's. They both didn't expect to come into each others lives.... they are two broken people with troubled pasts. The attraction between them is intense, something that is undeniable.... It's powerful, Intense, and Raw. This book has everything you need in a great romance novel. It's full of darkness, drama, danger, angst and love with enticing Red Hot Sexy scenes. K.A. Tucker has written a fabulous story and it was extremely well narrated by Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York. So Very enjoyable :)

Romance in a strip club..it totally worked!
Prepare yourself to fall in love with Cain, the strip club owner with a heart of gold. He’s made it his mission in life to help the girls that work at his club. He is such a contradiction, but when his past is slowly revealed you begin to understand his motivation. When “Charlie” comes to his club looking for a job, she immediately reminds him of the past he is trying to forget. Charlie is desperate for job that will earn her some fast cash in order to escape her current and very dangerous situation.
I really liked both of these characters and I enjoyed listening to their love story unfold. This wasn’t all flowers and chocolates (did I mention it’s set in a strip club?) And it had more of an edge to it than the other books.
Overall, great narration and story. 4.5 stars!

Nothing to Lose!
Where does Four Seconds to Lose rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would rate Four Seconds a 7 on a 1-10 scale. Worth a 2nd read although not in my Top 10 list.
Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Elizabeth Louise fit Charli's character and Sebastian York always brings the sexy bad boys to life! I have a hard time with the duo narration, it doesn't flow well for me no matter who is narrating.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I finished this book in a single sitting the first time. I'm now listening for the third time!
Any additional comments?
I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to buy into the characters and their back story with the drug slinging connections and the reformed bad boy who owns a strip club and an apartment building that houses his employees to help them find a safe and healthy life path. Really? But, it was well written and it flowed naturally. Overall, well written and narration was on point!

I loved the first book in this series; skipped the second; based on reviews, I got this one. It holds your interest. I do wish the sexual chemistry was more intense between the characters. That's just a personal preference. The story is good though and I don't regret using my credit for this book. I do love SY's narration skills. Mmmmm.

Slow
What did you like best about Four Seconds to Lose? What did you like least?
I loved the characters and the story was very original but the pace was so slow, the dialogues where dragging at times even Sebastian who I adore as a narrator was not up to par on this one, he was so lack of emotion up until the last few chapters of the story. Bit disappointed if I can be honest. Even when the characters supposed to be elated was flat.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Four Seconds to Lose?
I would be giving the story away so I rather not mention it.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Well I am hoping they were only doing their job so I am saying yes.
Do you think Four Seconds to Lose needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No I wouldn't be interested in reading another book.
Any additional comments?
Few chapters need to be removed this book was long without reason. The last 20 % of the book was the best.

Audiobook for Four Second to Lose By K. A. Tucker
Narrated By Elizabeth Louise, Sebastian York
Charlie Is a 18yr who had a rough up bring with her mother dying a few years ago and leaving her with her step father. Sam her stepfather is a Drug trafficker who gets Charlie to traffic his drugs for him.
Cain Is the owner of a Strip club he also had a rough up bring with his dad being a drug addict and his mother a prostitute. After his Mother, Father and Sister being brutality murder Cain decides to open a Strip club and make sure if the Girls in this business were going to do it the would have a safe and moral place to work.
When Sam ships Charlie off to Miami to lay low Charlie decides if she is ever going to get away from the life she has been living she needs money, So she decides that stripping at Penny’s is the way to get good money.
Cain and Charlie have an instant connection and even though Cain has a policy not to go near his employees he seem drawn to Charlie and every time she dances on stage she dances for him. Till they can’t fight there attraction anymore.
The thing is Cain has no idea who Charlie really is?
I have Fallen in love with K. A. Tuckers writing this is now the second book of hers I have read and I haven’t been able to put her books down and soon as I do I’m dying to read the next.
I have now listen to Sebastian York Narrated a couple of book and this mans voice is somewhat hypnotic and Sexy I could listen to this mans Voice all day (and I did).
Elizabeth Louise has the sweet sultry voice that was so fitting for this character I think these 2 were a great pairing together.

Enter the world of dancers and strippers
Would you consider the audio edition of Four Seconds to Lose to be better than the print version?
I loved it but never read the print version
What about Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York ’s performance did you like?
They read their characters with a very introspective and reflective tone as it has been written. The contrast of their voices did not veer too far away from the purported age of the characters.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Gloss and glitter hides reality often creating dilemma.
Any additional comments?
A fairly antiseptic glimpse into the seedy world of clubs and strippers.
