He explains that her full name, Euphemia, means "of good report ". Now, she must find a way to practice patience, unselfishness, and mindfulness to get that good report.
But she needs guidance. "In a sort of shamefaced way she knelt beside her bed and prayed. She was not used to praying. She had meant by it to let God know that she was 'thinking on these things'."
And so Euphemia's new life begins ...
