A giant telepathic parrot with a rather foul mouth, a horde of smelly goblins, and a tyrannical demon priestess…

Welcome to Devon Walker’s “new normal.”

During her first weeks in the deeply immersive VR game, Relic Online, she’s hacked out a home from a choking jungle, gathered a tribe of loyal followers, and earned a wisp stalker who insists she’s some kind of champion.

But Relic Online isn’t some wussy kids game, and there will be no easy-street cruising for Devon. Like a monk racking up combo points, the system opens a fresh offensive by crippling her most powerful ability. Following through, it strangles the village food supply, sends demons bursting through rifts in the Earth, and delivers a final, devastating throat punch by exploiting Devon’s worst fear.

The players have discovered Devon’s home. Now everything changes.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Just as good as the first book in the series. Great story, great narration, amazing voice talents.

Awesome

I love soundbooth theater they definitely know how to bring a book alive. that being said the story line is pretty okish, dont really like how the top game software developer has issues when it comes to a second party AI....he goes to weird lengths to stop an outgoing data stream... easier ways for a programmer to do that. but realism aside the characters are decent but I feel like the jokes are pretty weird or maybe I dont have the right sense of humor. weird sarcasm from the AI... all around a good series so far but well see what the next has book has in store.

meh storyline though picked up at end

This was an improvement over the last installment, and the last book was already pretty good.

I loved the first one and this one keeps building on that foundation. I can definitely recommend this series! And the narration is also praiseworthy.

Keeps getting better!
