Narration can kill a good story

I found the narrator annoying. Her intonation and breathing distracted me from the story. I am glad a used a credit. Many readers love her voice, but she not for me.

Sins

Excellent! Both the story & the narration. The only thing I don't like is the 3 month time lock since all three brothers stories have to fit inside it, but that's a minor detail & doesn't effect my enjoyment of the story. 👍

5th re-read

I love this series. I've already read and reviewed the book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Karen White does great job with the narration. She really brings the characters to life.

New author for me

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This was my first Rebecca Zanetti novel, it was good but not "blow my mind awesome" I will purchase the next in the series so yes it was worth the time.

What does Karen White bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This was my first Karen White listen and she did well. The characters all have different "voices" and you can tell them apart. It drives me nuts when they all sound the same. She is not in my top five favorite narrators but will definitely listen to others by read by her.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

It kind of has a "Universal Soldiers" feel to it so yes I would go see it. But the second movie sucked so I am hoping the second novel lives up to the first.

Couldn't get over the narrators voice and weird inflection

I tried to feel these characters but had no interest in their struggle. The narrator was awful. The story seemed incomplete from the beginning, like I started reading half way through the story.

Great Beginning! Anticipating the second one.

I liked the characters. The heroine was strong without being a She-ra. Don't you hate whiny heroines? She was smart and likeable. The hero was strong without being cold and uncaring. You really emphasized with the hero's childhood. This series reminds me of Christine Feehan's GhostWalker series. The series has action and an intriguing plot. Kept my interest enough that I looked for the second in the series. (Not on Audible yet :( ) I am putting the book in my wish list so that I can remember to check for the second book.

Rebecca Zanetti was nice enough to include an excerpt from the second book in this one.

I also liked the voices. Karen White did an excellent job!

This one was worth my credit :)

6 Million Dollar Man

The plot of this book reminds me a little of the 6 Million Dollar Man (TV show from the 1970s). Unfortunately, the basic premise was too unbelievable to me. I have no problem believing that our government could be genetically enhancing soldiers.

No, it was the idea that brothers, who were raised without any human kindness and who endured extreme physical and psychological abuse, could grow up to be normal men. Sadly, these brothers would likely turn out to be sociopaths and/or serial killers.

While most of Forgotten Sins was very well written, I couldn't buy into the flimsy plot, so my mind kept wondering. I would, however, try another book by Rebecca Zanetti - just not another in this series.

One Sexy Audiobook

FORGOTTEN SINS is a unique blend of romantic suspense, military thriller, and paranormal—to be honest, I’ve never listened to anything quite like it. I was reluctant to add this title to my to-be-read pile at first because I tend to stay away from straight-up contemporary, and the amnesia story line was a bit of a turn-off. However, Rebecca Zanetti’s beautiful writing style, and Karen White’s enchanting performance quickly sold me on the merits of this genre blending audiobook, and the smexy SIN BROTHERS definitely helped to further seal the deal. This high octave listen will have you staying up well past your bedtime, and the sex scenes will also ensure that your partner won’t be getting much sleep either.

The plot line of this novel is masterfully crafted; I enjoyed watching the various threads unfold, and I loved how just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, the author surprises you. I went from thinking that Shane’s reappearance was to blame—to suspecting Josie’s clients, coworkers, and kinda boyfriend—to government conspiracies, and back again. Zanetti does a superb job of keeping readers guessing up until the very end, and the way that it all comes together is exquisite. I found myself enjoying the amnesia angle way more than expected because it helped to add an extra level of mystery to the story, and then there’s the characters… wow! I’ve only just met the SIN BROTHERS, and already I find myself hard-pressed to pick a favourite.

Shane Dean is the epitome of alpha male; he’s inhumanly strong and fiercely loyal, but there’s also an underlying sweetness to him that’ll make your panties melt. I loved how in spite of his memory loss, his body and soul still recognized Josie as his. Their love for one another is rooted at such a basic level that it seemed almost instinctual at times which made the love scenes doubly explosive. It takes a strong heroine to hold her own against one of the SIN BROTHERS, and Josie was certainly up to the task. Her character is obviously struggling with abandonment issues, and I liked how she consistently disproved the brothers’ opinions of her “soft” nature by kicking butt.

This was my first experience with Karen White as a narrator, and I have to say that I was impressed. It took a couple of chapters for her to get the pacing down pat, but once she found her rhythm there was no stopping her! White’s tone mirrored the author’s writing to perfection; she successfully conveyed all of the characters’ emotions in any given scene, and also managed to capture the sexiness of Dean’s Southern twang. Needless to say, I enjoyed the narrator’s delivery, and will definitely be listening to SWEET REVENGE instead of reading it. What an outstanding performance!

FORGOTTEN SINS is one smexy audiobook! Great story, suspenseful plot, and the man-candy—oh, la la!

Forgotten Sins

Suspense, danger, steam, loved Shane and Josie story. The Dean brothers are definitely swoon worthy. A complex plot keeps you guessing and trying to figure out what is going on while the audio performance adds to the story. Can’t wait to listen to the next one
