Publisher's Summary

Brooke Chambers is forced to leave the army and the job that she loves. Moving back into civilian life, she never imagined it would mean looking after her teenage sister and searching for a new career. But, with the sudden loss of their dad, Brooke finds herself stepping up, and in the process, looking for a new job - any job. Getting the chance to let off some steam, she heads to Art, a lesbian bar, and meets Catherine. It’s lust at first sight as both women feel that instant connection, despite the obvious age gap. With Brooke’s new job being the same place where Catherine works, she assumes it was meant to be. Catherine, however, has other ideas and puts a halt to any prospective love affair, much to Brooke’s confusion and heartbreak. When she tells Brooke to forget it, she didn’t quite mean it so literally and wishes she hadn’t said it, but Brooke is injured on the job and loses her memory...and forgets Catherine.... Will they get a second chance to work things out?

AMAZING

It had a bit of a slow start. Then it was absolutely captivating. I couldn't stop listening. I was laughing and cursing through out. I need another story like this one. It really does feel like a movie in my mind.

Loved it!

“Forget it” is a upbeat story with plenty of ups and downs. Catherine & Brooke have an instant attraction which brings them together in a hot and fiery beginning to only end up being squashed as soon as Cathrine sees that Brooke will be working for her. This book has plenty of angst, confusion and of course do to an on the job incident a bit of Memory loss. This story was well written and you find you can’t help but cheer for these two MC’s. 5 star ⭐️

Sweet romance

What a sweet love story! There was the right amount of angst and I loved Brooke’s persistence and how Catherine “thawed “ over time. Great listen!

The combination of a cute story and a British accent...

OK so part of the story was known from other stories, but it developed so well and even if the end was expected it was a cute story, very romantic, engaging, and the narration was delightful.
So yes it is a good book to listen to.

I won't forget this one anytime soon

This was a novel of a different shape to me. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. It was sexy, suspenseful, romantic, frustrating and everything in between. Claire HIghton-Stevenson has created a story that is so real I felt a part of it in so many ways. The challenges it addresses are well incorporated and dealt with. The process of Brooke and Katherine's encounters gets amusing and the end results for them both personally and professionally are interesting to see evolve. Kim Bretton does and outstanding job of portraying all the characters with great emotion and depth. As with all of her books....I would recommend this to anybody who enjoys good lesbian romance fiction.

Narrator was okay but not great

So I read this book and overall liked it enough to want to purchase the audio version. This review will mainly concern the narrator than the story itself. The story itself was pretty good. I gave it a 3.5 star in my book review and it is available on kindleUnlimited as well as CHS's other books.

Now, the narrator, Kim Bretton, is new to me and I am honestly not sure how many other books she has the pleasure of narrating. Her voice is nice and when she was reading/narrating the book it was pretty great. The problem I had with her was that her character voices did not feel right to me. At times I felt like they all sounded the same and others they sounded like each other. A few times the voice, let's say described as barely audible, was clear and loud as day and spoken like it was just read; the voice acting didn't portray enough of the emotion or the character of each voice. I feel that with other narrators that I have listened to I have been a bit spoiled when it comes this part of listening to a story and to me Bretton fell a bit short.

While I like the story just fine, and find the narrator's voice pleasant, I didn't love this narration. Would I give her another go if she narrates a story I like, I want to say yes because everyone deserves a second chance :)

Everyone needs a second chance.

I loved how this story is so magnifently told. Kim Bretton gives brilliant voice and emotional depths to loveable characters, (even the ice queen). Claire Highton Stevenson gives a story of such a hot, steamy connection between two women you can't put the book down. This is a well written wity dialogue of a second chance for love.

Spot on narration

Kim is a rising star in the narration world and I was so pleased to see that she was narrating another brilliant book. As ever, she delivers a stunning performance and brings all of the characters to life. Claire's saucy, sexy, steamy story is another hit and I can wait to hear and read more from these talented women.
