When everything that can go wrong over the holidays goes wrong.
Austin
Christmas is my favorite time of year. It’s the only time I get to see my family after I moved away for college. I'm looking forward to being home for the holidays, especially since my sister is bringing her new fiancé with her. But when I meet him, it’s the last person I’d expect.
Jeremy
Meeting my fianceé’s family was supposed to be the big scary step, but it’s even worse because it’s over the holidays. I didn’t realize she had a twin brother or that he was the guy I dated my freshman year of college. When things go south between me and Leah, I’m not only trapped at their family home for Christmas, but I’m forced to share a room with my ex.
I think I owe Austin an explanation.

Only by that mishap was Jeremy able to find people who really loved him unconditionally. He was so deprived of love and affection that he didn’t know how it was supposed to feel.
His only way of coping when someone got too close was to run away. He didn’t know the difference between falling in love with someone and just loving someone. And when he realized it, it almost cost him.
I know it seems unrealistic how everything worked out with Austin’s family, but I choose to believe there are genuinely good people out there who would love someone like Jeremy despite his flaws. He deserved to be happy and Austin was that happiness.
Once again, Joelle brought us a heartfelt story that shows how important it is to accept and love who we exactly the way we are. We come in different shapes and sizes and that’s absolutely ok. The right people will love us as we are.
I want Oliver Williams to be the only narrator for all of Joelle’s books. I don’t think I can listen to anyone else narrating her books. I just love the way he encompasses each character so perfectly.
Jeremy🥺
