Publisher's Summary

Five women reluctantly leave the city for a challenging hike across the rugged Giralang Ranges as part of a corporate retreat. Only four come out the other side. Federal Police Agent Aaron Falk has a particularly keen interest in the whereabouts of the missing bushwalker.

Alice Russell is the whistleblower in his latest case - and Alice knew secrets. About the company she worked for and the people she worked with. Absolute Enjoyment

I really enjoyed this well crafted story and appreciated the narration.
The Australian bush and birds are different from anywhere else
on earth and were well portrayed.

Mildly Entertaining

I really didn’t enjoy listening to the narrator. I felt his voice distracted me too much. The story was only ok and I struggled to finish.

Didn't quite live up to The Dry

I loved The Dry by Jane Harper her first debut novel and was eager for the release of Force of Nature. This is a good book, and Harper is an excellent storyteller. But for me it definitely fell short. It was very slow to get into , and I found the mystery unravels very slowly - sometimes painfully so.

Harper's description of the landscape and the cold and wet atmosphere was bang on, I was shivering!!!

This book is a similar structure to The Dry with the story moving from past to present with each chapter, which helps to build the suspense.

I really like Harper's writing style and she develops great believable characters I can relate to. I really wanted to kill Alice Russell myself LOL!! But then on the flip side I didn't feel as connected to our hero Aaron Falk, as I did in The Dry.

All in all, it was an enjoyable book, but for me The Dry is so much better all round. I'd definitely love to see what Harper has coming next!!

Compelling story a great read

Thank you Audible for this bonus read this month, having already read your book of the month "The Dry" I was able to devote my bonus to Jane Harper's 2nd Arron Falk novel and it did not disappoint. I love the narrator he makes a good story so compelling you need to to keep listening. The story is a fantastic tale about team bonding that goes horribly wrong. Jane describes all the small details that when combined lead to a truly tragic outcome in really heartfelt way you can't help but relate and feel for all the women and their total unpreparedness for a wilderness situation. This book is such a good read I really recommend it without hesitation.

Very interesting a bit spooky

I did not pick the ending at all but the bush setting made it very convincing I hope Aaron appears later in another story.
