Publisher's Summary

Struggling artist Avery Ross is barely scraping by. Bartending at a trendy New York City restaurant for an overbearing boss and two weeks away from losing her apartment to a condo developer, she's desperate for a break. So when she's offered a temporary housesitting job, she takes it.

Living at one of the poshest addresses in Manhattan is like entering a new world - one that catapults her into the orbit of billionaire Dominic Baine, the darkly handsome, arrogantly alpha resident of the building's penthouse. What begins as a powerful attraction soon explodes into a white-hot passion neither can deny.

Yet as scorching as their need for each other is, Avery doesn't expect Nick's interest in her to last. Nor does she dare to dream that the desire she feels for this scarred, emotionally remote man could deepen into something real. For Avery has secrets of her own - and a past that could destroy her, and shatter everything she and Nick share.

Contains mature themes.

AWESOME - BUT A CLIFFHANGER... I COULD SCREAM

Firstly a personal rant, there should be big red warning signs on books with cliffhanger endings because I absolutely HATE them (and I know I'm not alone)... by the time the second book is released (probably December for this) I've forgotten the plot intricacies of the previous book. And, as this is the 1st book in Lara Adrian's new 100 TRILOGY, chances are that book 3 hasn't even been written yet, and so I may have to wait for perhaps a year before the story concludes... and patience, when it comes to awesome gripping romance stories, is just not in my DNA. So, be warned - there'll be a long long wait in between books. (rant over)

Lara Adrian throws everything she's got into her very descriptive scenes and you can feel the sizzling electrifying chemistry as soon as Avery Ross and Dominic Baine meet. Avery's a struggling bar waitress, about to be evicted, has tortured haunted memories, guilty secrets and a protective shell built high all around herself and Dominic, the handsome, sexy, charismatic Billionaire, also has secrets and mysterious scars... and together these two are simply combustible. It starts off as just sex but soon morphs into much more even though neither one will say it - but it's a relationship built on hot sex, sensual lazy days, lies and secrets so you know that at some point it's all going to come tumbling down around them. And they both know they're holding back - holding back deep dark secrets, holding back the chance of a future together... and holding back on the day it'll tear them apart.

I love LA's style of writing as she draws you into each scene and the Hero was so Alpha and hot yet caring and kind that I actually felt jealous for a fictional character as Avery experienced 100 days with Dominic. But it was 100 days of pleasure built on secrets and lies and he's happily plotting his 100 Nights of Revenge (title of next book) - in his bed when Avery gets a mysterious and ominous phone call that could destroy everything. This is told from Avery's POV, it has some hot light BDSM scenes that hint of more to err come, likeable main and secondary characters and the narration was great.

Worth a credit? 100 x YES and, IMO, I know the use of my credit on a Lara Adrian book is always a wise choice for me. However, I regret the purchase - not because it wasn't interesting, sexy, romantic and thoroughly enjoyable - no, it's because of the unexpected cliffhanger ending to a Trilogy which means that it's going to be a frustratingly long long wait before the HEA finally comes into sight.... and now I'm repeating myself.... ARGHHHH!!

Deeply Disappointed

Lara Adrian was one of my favorites writers. I especially loved her Breed series. They were enthralling and kept you immersed in the story. Sad to say that this new series doesn't do the same. It took everything I had to read it to the end. There is no storyline and it basically is nothing more than sex scenes all the way through. I like a good sex scene now and again but this book was excessive. I'm going to try to get my money back. Sorriest excuse for a book I've read in a long time. I won't be reading anymore of this series. I would love her to go back to her other style of writing.

100% Lara Adrian Perfection

Lara Adrian is a GO TO AUTHOR for me. Usually its paranormal romance, but I just had to check out a contemporary romance by one of my favorite authors. And I was most definitely glad I did.

Adrian's signature descriptive style comes out strong in For 100 Days. I fell right into the world she created - the secrets and lies, the steamy chemistry between the main characters, the sexy enigmatic hero, the strong independent heroine, the intrigue and everything that leads up to the cliffhanger ending.

What starts out as just sex turns into so much more but there's still a lot more of the story to come... I can't wait for the next book! This was 100 days of pleasure but the next sounds like 100 Nights of Revenge. I enjoyed the narration so much, I'll be waiting to listen to the next one on audio too.

The story was good but not sure if I will continue

The story itself was good and the character development was very good but the continuous repetition was nearly unbearable. I found myself skipping forward minutes at a time without missing anything new. I almost stopped reading but am glad I finished the book. Angst is OK but when it is used in a continuous loop, it defeats the purpose.

The narration is excellent.

I will read some other books and will check out a different title from Lara and see if it is a trend or a one-off.

Warning, this is 1/3 of a book

This is not a whole book... it’s one book that is sold in three pieces claiming it’s a trilogy. Nothing is resolved in book one other than a part of the whole story. There’s no real cliffhanger as much as the feeling that you forgot to keep reading. This kind of marketing really pisses me off! Especially when book one was part of the romance package and two and three weren’t. Twice the insult if you ask me.

That BS aside....

I loved this book. It felt very real. The narration is excellent and the heat Factor is off the charts.

Is it worth a credit? Well, I have yet to finish the ‘trilogy’ but paying three times for one book sucks!

I want a refund

Struggled to finish. Story has great potential...Maybe if JD or JR wrote it. I really wanted to enjoy it but it just wasn't possible.

Didn’t expect the cliffhanger

Good book with excellent narration but it ended on a cliffhanger. Not sure how the heroine deserves the hero considering she does very little but react to others’ actions throughout the book. I almost feel like I don’t get to know her much at all. Maybe that resolves in the next book but this book doesn’t tell me where to find the resolution of that story.

Overall good story....Cliffhanger ending.

What made the experience of listening to For 100 Days the most enjoyable?

The story was good and kept a good pace and plot twists were entertaining.

What about Summer Morton’s performance did you like?

Her voice was perfect for a young woman.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just enjoyable. A bit disappointed that it is a cliff hanger and a strong one...but other than that, it was good.

I'm gonna love this series!

I really enjoyed Lara Adrian's paranormal romance series Midnight Breed and knowing that this new series was a contemporary romance, I was intrigued but also a little apprehensive about her foray into more traditional romance and so this audiobook languished on my wish list for over a month before I finally purchased it. I lament that hesitation, I should have known better! Lara knows what she's doing and I loved this book!

Avery Ross’ apartment building is being renovated and she is facing eviction, working at a local bar, she lucks upon a patron whose in need of a house sitter, Avery gratefully accepts the four-month assignment. Unbeknownst to her the apartment is in a swanky high rise. Once she arrives at the building she literally runs right into Nick Baine who lives in the building's penthouse, soon sparks fly, and they both fall hard, but Avery has secrets and Nick craves absolute trust, let the drama begin!

This book has a cliffhanger, either I'm getting used to that or writers are getting better at closing a story line so you don't feel cheated. Either way, I didn't mind it and there was just enough of a tease to make you excited for the next book, good job Lara!

This audiobook has superior audio quality and the narration by Summer Morton is excellent, buy or credit you'll be happy.

Sex scenes drawn out.

Story line interesting, however, the sex scenes were too long, drawn out and because of that they became boring to the point of fast forwarding Thru them became necessary. Less is more.

A LOT of sex - became tedious

Great story well paced, Avery's secrets were kept throughout gave the story more edge. Dominic (Nick) what a hottie! Normal billionaire if there is such a thing.
