Publisher's Summary

An all-new stand-alone from New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent

It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.

I'm a professional fluffer. It's not what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.

Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I'll wait.

See? That's the problem. My career has used the term "fluffer" for decades. I didn't even know there was a more...lascivious definition of the term.

Until it was too late.

The ad for a "professional fluffer" on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a "fluffer" doesn't arrange decorative pillows on a couch.

They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.

The job isn't hard. Er, I mean, it is - it's about being hard. Or, well...helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man....

And that's the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham - my high school crush. The owner of the house where we're filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.

By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.

My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what's easier than I ever imagined?

Having all my dreams come true.

Fluffy is a full-length novel and is a stand-alone romantic comedy from New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent.

Lovely romance

Fluffy is that. Fluffy. I adore Erin Mallon and she was awesome. The story about wrong place, but maybe the right time. A second chance that didn’t actually have a first chance, but the feelings did. The misunderstandings and how people believe what they want without taking the people into consideration. Yes, it might sound a little much, but Julia Kent handled these characters with a kind of authenticity I didn’t expect. A sweetness and also a touch of rawness.

The attraction is lovely. It’s forward, but reserved. The book isn’t steamy, it focuses on the heroine and the people in a way that isn’t too much.

And I love that fluffy and fluffer takes on several meanings. A very good book for me.

Fun and entertaining!

What an entertaining story! I admit, I was just as naïve as Mallory — as I didn’t know what a Fluffer was either, and boy did I have a LAUGH as I discovered the meaning through her experience. OH my!! The whole opening scene sets the stage for this hilarious tale. Mallory becomes reunited with her high school crush and through a series of embarrassing moments, witty banter and misconceptions revealed, Mallory gets the happily ever after that she always daydreamed about. The supporting cast of characters are such a hoot, adding to the comedic fun and in turn, we’ll hopefully soon discover their stories as well. Erin Mallon was THE perfect choice as narrator. She brought such life to these characters and story, elevating it to a whole other level of funny!

Loved it!

I love when I can really identify with the main character in a book. Mallory is the nerdy awkward girl who is just a magnet for disaster. Until... This book made me laugh, cringe, and sigh, then laugh some more. The narration was perfect.

Excellent!!

When I listened to Fluffy, I thought I found something like Neanderthal Seeks Human and Beautiful Bastard kinda comedy/ chick lit gem. Julia Kent is one of those authors that has been on my radar for the longest time. I’m so happy I finally took the jump and listened to this book. It was super cute and fun to listen to; I’m looking forward to picking up more in this series!
The first few chapters of this book had me captivated, and from there it unfolded like a great hallmark movie. *Cue the sighs*The is a great storyline and we'll developed characters.
Wonderful listen!

Fantastic

This book has actually given me stitches from laughing so hard. By the end I felt almost like I had run a marathon it had that much good humour in it. The characters have so much personality and are so enjoyable. The pacing and the voices that the narrator has used just put the icing on the cake for me. I know this is a series that I need the rest of as this one was just so well done.

Give it a listen you won’t be disappointed

Laugh out loud brilliance!

I actually listened to this book over a year ago the first time round but that was before I started to take the time to review the hard work of both the author and narrator. This book really needs to be shared, appreciated and loved by all.
It is the quirkiest, laugh out loud, funny book, that will pull you in and tickle your ribs… Then before you know it, the book has finished and you need the next!
Julia Kent’s writing brilliance teamed up with Erin Mallon’s simplistic comedic performance will have you buying the whole “Do Over” series without a second thought!
This series is well worth your hard-earned pennies… You will not be disappointed, so buy the whole series, settle down and enjoy!

Hilarious

I had a smile on my face all the way through this book. The story oozes humour with plenty of laugh out loud scenes. I sniggered at all the double entendres at the beginning and I adored the flirty banter between Mal and Will. This was a really cute and romantic comedy.
I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.

Hilarious!

A light and funny listen. Malory really has no idea what she let herself in for when she accepted a new position. I’m not quite sure how she could be quite so naive but it certainly made for an hilarious story!

Definitely a book to listen to!

After reading the prequel, I really enjoyed learning how Mal and Will’s romance ended. The book kept the tone and mood I loved in Little miss perfect, with Mallory being a strangely compelling character–and a klutz, on top of that–and her relationship with Will growing into something sweet and sexy.

We had a glimpse in the prequel that maybe Mallory had missed some clues in high school, and that she may not have been as invisible to Will as she thought. Here, we learn the actual impact she had on him–especially their moment in Little miss perfect. I loved it.

This is a book about growing up, and how everyone has to choose between getting stuck in high school mode or actually moving on–and forward. High school is a trauma, equally for the awkward and the popular. It sets values and standards and expectations, that you either decide to keep, or throw away. Mallory has chosen to stay there. Even though she suffers from it, she chose to stay where she grew up and to maintain the image her schoolmates sent back to her.

Will has moved on. And moved over, before coming back. He has basically forgotten his high school years, except one thing, the meaningful moment he shared with Mallory. He finally makes it his job to show her that she’s much more than she thinks. I loved the dynamics between them, and the easy companionship they build even before they become a couple.

There’s mostly one thing that bothered me. I felt the high school reunion scene stalled a lot. There were a lot of revelations to be had, and it was crucial in the characters’ development, but it looked like it never moved forward until the very end. It was a weird back and forth and they both were stuck in limbo.

The narration was sublime, bringing up both the humor and the emotions. Definitely a book to listen to!

Laugh out loud romcom

Absolutely loved this story about Mallory and Will.
The unbelievably ludicrous situations she finds herself in and the ramblings of her confused mind keeps the storyline at a fast pace. A good mix of characters play their part in bringing this story to a happy ending. I thought the epilogue was a good lead into the book of the series.
The narrator did a fabulous job of bringing all the characters to life and I highly recommend this book.

So funny

I received an ARC of this from Give Me Books PR on behalf of the author.

✩ Second chance romance
✩ Rom-Com
✩ Hilarious
✩ Reunion romance
✩ A start to a brand-new series
And what a start it is. This made me laugh out loud so many times I got hiccups. It was cute, pretty low on the angst, and so sweet it gave me a cavity. Mallory and Will went to school together and she had a massive crush on him. Ten years later they're reconnecting.

This had some cracking one liners and I can't wait to hear the stories with the amazing friend group. You don't have to but you should totally read Little Miss Perfect which is the prequel to fluffy and fills in those gaps about high school Mal and Will. Erin Mallon keeps bringing the characters to life, even if I wouldn't mind a second POV.

Be ready to laugh so hard it hurts

I had no idea what fluff was. OH BOY was I as shocked as Mallory when I found out. This is a laugh out loud story that I could not stop listening to. Mallory has such a wit about her. I loved her quick responses and complete attitude towards her "new job". But the broadcast in the coffee shop had me in stitches. It is something I could totally see myself doing! Perky is introduced in this story and I could not wait to listen to her story as well. Julia Kent writes such fun romances, I cannot wait to read more.

Erin Mallon narrated this story with so much personality. Ms. Mallon brought out the great wit for Mallory. I enjoy listening to anything Ms. Mallon narrates. She has a great voice and narrates at a perfect pace. The overall experience of this story was enhanced by the narration.

Brilliant

Talk about laugh out loud. I just couldn’t get to the end of this book soon enough only to begin again from the start. What a brilliant author Julia Kent is. Erin Mallon, the narrator, really captures the character of Fluffy just as I imagine that Julia intended. Sexy, hilarious and a great story. Well done.

Terrible ending

I should make a note of the narrator so I never download a book read by her again.
The book was OK at best and the ending was abrupt. The last chapter should have been edited out completely.
