Story
Italy has lured travelers since ancient times. Jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea, Italy naturally attracted travelers and invaders alike. In fact, most that came to this enchanting peninsula never left, drawn by the irresistible lure of Italy. Italy will likely remain a popular tourist destination for years to come, in part because of the artistic sites and cultural expression that all of these invaders and civilizations left behind. Many tourists are drawn to Italy by its beaches and monuments, but many find themselves bidden to stay by a force that they cannot completely describe.

Italy delights and stimulates with its magnificent cities and monuments, its stunningly beautiful landscapes, the glory of its art and architecture, the richness and variety of its food, the elegance of its design and fashion, and the vitality and charm of its people. Italian style and culture have been exported all over the world. The Italians are the most European-minded of nations, having emerged from a long history of regional fragmentation.

Story
The Roman Republic is one of the most breathtaking civilizations in world history. Between roughly 500 BCE to the turn of the millennium, a modest city-state developed an innovative system of government and expanded into far-flung territories across Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. This powerful civilization inspired America's founding fathers, gifted us a blueprint for amazing engineering innovations, left a vital trove of myths, and has inspired the human imagination for 2,000 years.

5 stars for this guide !!!
I have traveled all over Italy and I find Florence as one of the nicest places to visit there. This audiobook guide has great travel ideas, top locations, tips, directions, well organized five-day Itinerary and much more. Its budget recommendations helped me save some money while I was in Florence. I just regret that they don’t make guides like this one for all the cities. If you are visiting Florence this book is a must-have in your collection.

Disappointed
What would have made Florence, Italy Travel Guide Book better?
Voice over was tough to listen to; very pompous British accent. Entire book is next to useless. Wasted my money.
What could Passport to European Travel Guide have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
It would have been better to have never created this book.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Melanie Fraser?
NOT HER. Anyone else
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
all of the above
Any additional comments?
Truly, a genuine disappointment. Giving telephone numbers for emergencies, saying things that are totally obvious as, "If you find a less expensive option then certainly choose it." Or at least to that effect. Book cannot be of value to anyone.

Informative
This audio book is the only guide you will ever need if you are traveling to Florence. It will help you better organize your stay and experience Florence in just 5 days (if you follow the book’s itinerary). There is also some useful info, like important phone numbers, basic Italian phrases and tips on how to save money while traveling. The narration is very well performed and pronunciation is good. I highly recommend this audio book to anyone visiting Florence!
