Publisher's summary

In Fletch's Moxie, the prolific Gregory Mcdonald tests his incomparable investigative journalist once again with a caper that is as perfectly plotted as Fletch is brilliant.

It seems just about everyone in Hollywood had a reason to want Steve Peterman dead. But how someone managed to put a knife in his back on a live broadcast without being seen is anyone's guess. Unfortunately for Fletch, his girlfriend, Moxie Mooney, a huge star at the box office, is also the number-one suspect.

With the police asking way too many questions, Fletch whisks Moxie and her drunken father off to Key West for a little privacy. But before he can even check out the beach, the rest of the suspects decide to check in. Now, in a house full of Hollywood's elite, Fletch is increasingly amazed at how ruthless the movie business can be.

Always a great read

Always entertaining and fun to listen to. McDonald always has a somewhat serious ending after a sometimes silly narrative. it is kind of touching as it seems like underneath the bravado and arrogance there is a heart of gold that reveals his soft spot, particularly for the underdog.

A murder in southwest Florida

Fun to have this fletch book set in Fort Myers. The trip to Key West made out even more fun. The conclusion was a little surprising but well developed. MacDonald seems to enjoy surprising flip flops by his characters. Moxie and her father play more central roles and are well developed.

Fun listen.

Enjoyable story with Fletcher and movie people. Good for relaxing afternoon on a cold day in autumn.

Great Who done it series masquerading as throw away novel

I’ve just about worked my way through the entire Fletch series and with it coming close to the end of all Gregory Mcdonald’s books.

He’s a fantastic writer and it really comes through in the simplicity of these novels….

There’s nothing ‘simple’ about just how well the characters, tone, humor, dialogue and especially the plot twists work in his books.

Least Favorite Fletch Book So Far, but it Does Keep You Guessing

This is the fifth book in the Fletch series and definitely my least favorite so far. The middle just drags on and on. However, it does keep you wondering who the real killer is the whole time. My biggest problem is that when we finally find out, we don’t really care. If you’re a completist like me, you’ll find some amusing things, but if not, feel free to skip it. What one cannot ignore though is that Dan Jon Miller is a genius narrator; I truly wish all books were read by him.

So glad I found these books.

I loved this selection, as I also loved Carioca Fletch. I think they are my two favorites of the books I have read so far. I have two titles to go to finish reading the series.

It was alright, I enjoyed it.

If you’ve already listened to the easier books in the series or read, then you’ll enjoy this one. It wasn’t as good as a couple other ones I’ve read, but it definitely was worth my time. Fletcher didn’t disappoint me.

I got bored mid book almost quit listening. Glad I did not quit because the ending picked up its pace and was worth finishing
