More Entertaining than anything on the big screen

I am not sure if it was the narration, the story, or both, but I had the most entertaining evening listening to Fledgling. I ate popcorn. I drank soda. I listened and enjoyed.

I will admit that I have read all of Molly Harper's books. I have even listened to them all on audiobook. I have enjoyed them all but this one---just WOW!! There was simple romance. There were great friendships. There was an evil that sent goosebumps up my arms.

Sarah proves you don't have to be the strongest or the brightest to be a heroine. You just need the desire to right a wrong. I can't wait to see what she comes up against next and who will be standing by her side.

Enjoyable sequel

Molly Harper created some great characters and and interesting world in Changeling. Sometimes sequels don't live up to the first book in a series. This one did, I enjoyed it a lot, and look forward to the next installment. Amanda Ronconi narrated both the original and this book and does a great job.

Loved Fledgling -even better than Changling

Love this new series –they are so much fun! I enjoyed the first book, “Changling”, but “Fledgling” is even better. The relationships are established and we learn so much about the characters as we get to know them better. Sarah/ Cassandra is a remarkable student and an even more admirable person. I notice people are afraid to compare the stories to Harry Potter, but I see only positives and no negatives. I love Harry Potter, but was often frustrated that he always seemed to stumble into a solution rather than apply knowledge he learned. People left him out of the loop so he didn’t have all of the information he needed and he stumbled through a solution. Sarah/ Cassandra studies, researches, listens to advice from her teachers and sponsors, the Winter’s, and pulls in her friends to help. She protects her friends and family, helps the people around her as Harry did and isn’t afraid to stand up and help others, but she doesn’t do it blindly. I love the strength and intelligence of this heroine and that she is still so relatable –she’s a fifteen-year-old girl raised as a Snipe (non-magical serving class) dealing with a school of highly privileged, magical girls. She’s having her first romance, learning about her magic and how to control it, learning how to work with the special gift she’s been given in being the interpreter of a special magical book and how to use all of this to help others like herself. It’s a great story with all of Molly Harper’s humor, clever wit and realistic characters who just happen to have magical abilities too! Amanda Ronconi is amazing -I love her as the narrator of Molly's other books, but didn't realize she was the narrator with the British accent. As always, she makes the characters stand out and her timing is perfect.

Pretty good continuation of the series :D

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story and continuation of the series. The book description gives a pretty good breakdown of what happens so this review will be short. I do still like the characters and the general direction the story is going. However, this seems to be more of a transitional part of the series storyline so while it did progress the story nicely, it left a lot of things hanging at the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and seeing what happens from here. :)

Enjoyable light read with some excitement, some teen stupidity, and well defined characters. Excellent break from more serious material.

Very Enjoyable

I loved listening to Sarah's adventures with her friends while I worked around the house. Wonderful writing - loved the sarcasm. Can't wait for the next book!

Funny sequel

As always with Molly Harper I found myself laughing so much as I listened. Sarah has to figure out why the mother book isn’t talking to her like it used to and what is going on with the other changelings or where they could be. She has to rely on her amazing friends and even makes some new ones. She has to figure out who she wants to be and what she is willing to do for what she believes in right. But what will happen if she ever finds the changelings? And what is going on with the council? And what will happen with her courting?
