Publisher's summary

Nathan wasn't sure why people were so obsessed with dating and sex.

Sure it probably felt good, but he just couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. It might have helped if he knew what he was looking for. But with so many labels and options, he just wasn't sure. It seemed so easy to everyone else, but to him, it felt like something was missing.

Gabriel thought Nathan was absolutely perfect. Sweet, funny, sexy, and completely confused about what he desired; but absolutely perfect. He wanted to help Nathan. Would his sexy roommate be open to something that was completely outside of the box or would Gabriel ruin their relationship before it even started?

Great story

Nathan & Gabriel are roommates. Nathan is smart guy but struggles socially. He's also a bit of a scatter brain & thrives on the boundaries that Gabriel sets for him. After overhearing a sleep talking Gabriel, Nathan begins to wonder if there could be more between the two of them.

I liked how they talked to each other about what they both wanted & made sure it was right for both of them. After years of feeling indifferent about relationships & sex, Nathan is excited & curious about what they are starting.

We are given a front row seat to their beautiful, sensual relationship. I fell in love with both of these men & their kink. Nathan's lack of filter was a great addition, it made me laugh & smile many times & I felt the love between these two men as they explored the lifestyle & each other.

I liked the addition of Eric & Marcus. I look forward to their book.

The narrator really bought them to life & made them real. I enjoyed listening to it & it added a great dimension to a great book most of the time but I will say that at times I felt that Gabriel sounded a bit detached & Nathan sometimes sounded quite juvenile. Overall I enjoyed listening to their story.

I received an audio credit from the author & chose to leave my review.

Clueless Pup, Patient Master

I absolutely love Nathan; he's a smart, lovable, and socially clueless. Gabriel can't quite figure out his new roommate, but the Master in him can't help but step in to take care of Nathan. Nathan takes to puppy play as he does with everything else - jumping right in and asking questions as they come. Gabriel is a great Dom making sure to check in with Nathan frequently, encouraging him, and knowing when to step in and when to let Nathan stand up for himself.

Kenneth Obi does a fantastic job narrating. I loved listening to Nathan's wandering thoughts and lack of filter. I loved the book first, and the audio just makes it better.

Loved it!!

Nathan has been looking for something for a long time. But he didn't know what it was. He has no filter and socially awkward. I loved him.. Gabriel who's his roommate actually fufiled what he's been looking for but it took them time to figure it out. I would love to hear more about them. I loved them so much I want more. And in a perfect world I want Aly to understand and accept him for who he is and actually listen to him and not talk above him.

Great in audio!

Would you consider the audio edition of Flawed Perfection to be better than the print version?

Yes. When I read the ebook, I gave it 4 stars, which meant that I really liked it. Hearing it performed just brought it more to life for me, and I had to add another star.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Flawed Perfection?

Nathan learning to wag his tail cracked me up. I also liked when he stood up to his so-called friends.

What does Kenneth Obi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kenneth Obi did a great job overall, but especially with Nathan. I felt like I was in his head with him as his thoughts flitted all over the place. The sexiness and innocence shone through as well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh a couple of times and smile often.

Any additional comments?

This author always provides stories that are kinky and yet really sweet. This was no exception. I enjoyed it immensely. I was provided a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

So Sweet!

If you could sum up Flawed Perfection in three words, what would they be?

Innocent
Sweet
Discovery

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I tried to listen to it in one sitting, but life got in the way :) The narrator was able to show the innocence in Nate. His running commentary and no filter was so funny.

Nice Puppy Play Story

Very nice D/s, puppy play, 1st time, virgin story. M.A. Innes sure writes a good one.

I'd sure love to actually see that final scene... With Innes' descriptions it's easy to imagine, but damn it would make a gorgeous movie.

Something new

This book covers a topic I am not super familiar with, but somehow the author and the narrator for this book bring out the characters and make you love them while seamlessly explaining their lifestyle. I love Nathan and his lack of a filter, almost as much as Gaberiel. Loved this book!

Kink that is surprisingly sweet and adorable

I read this book at the beginning of May, but had forgotten a lot about it, so I was excited to listen to the audio version. I enjoyed it even more the second time through! The first time I read it, I hadn't read a lot of kink, so I spent some of my time going - this is a thing? Is it okay that I like it? This time around, I was able to just ENJOY the story and narration.

Kenneth Obi does a fabulous job with Nathan's social awkwardness and lack of filter, as well as Gabriel's protectiveness and amused tolerance. Sometimes his voice slipped into a different character's sound, but not enough that it docked a star.

If you aren't familiar with the content of this story, it's basically about a guy - Nathan - who doesn't know what he wants from a sexual standpoint, and then accidentally finds out that his roommate (who already takes care of him in a more or less Dom/sub way) is into puppy kink. The way it is approached is just perfect - Gabriel, the Dom roommate - is very careful not to ever do anything that Nathan isn't comfortable with, and is constantly checking in and making sure Nathan is enjoying and is okay with everything. Even though puppy kink isn't my personal cup of tea, this author always does an amazing job of showing why the kink in the book is perfect for the characters and what they get out of it. And Nathan and his lack of filter is HILARIOUS. I will definitely recommend this one to others.

True perfection!!

Having already read the book, I knew I would enjoy this. It was even better than I expected. Kenneth Obi did a fantastic job narrating. I strongly suggest using him again. The way he did Nathan’s “filter” comments was perfect and had me laughing so hard. They were funny to read but hearing them was priceless. There were so many ways he enriched the audio experience but those were my favorite.
