Publisher's Summary

You are reading this on a screen. You have First World Problems.

First World Problems: 101 Reasons Why The Terrorists Hate Us is a collection of short humorous essays and rants from a man who knows suffering. It is comedy that borders on tragedy.

What are First World Problems?

A First World Problem is a trivial issue that afflicts people in wealthier nations declared to be in the "First World".

Third World Problem: "I have to walk three miles to draw water from a dirty well or else I'll die of dehydration."

First World Problem: We have nothing to drink in the fridge except filtered tap water."

Do you have nothing to drink except a limitless supply of tap water? Have you ever bought so much food at the grocery store that it molded before you could eat it? Did you buy an iPhone one week before the new model was announced?

You're suffering from First World Problems.

What follows is the graphic account of what it's like to live in the First World. Tales of unreasonably cold air conditioning, eating to the point of exhaustion, and being unable to enjoy summer weather due to gainful employment in a bad economy.

Get out of my head, Ben Nesvig!

I've personally ranted about so much of the subject matter that the author talks about. I found this book hilarious ic points out how ridiculous Timothy suppose it issues are.

A book I could listen to over and over

Personally, I love any book that makes me feel like I am just listening to a friend rant away about life and thoughts. I can agree or disagree, however when listening to a book I tend to agree/disagree in my head and not physically out loud, because I'm sure that would make me look a bit odd in public. I'd recommend this book to others.

Like Listening to a Stand-up Routine- Hilarious!

I read this book first and then listened to it when it became available on Audible. I can't even tell you how much better the narrator, who is also the author, reads this book than I did in my head. I was down right crying at a few points just from all the different voices the author uses, not to mention analogies like this, "Other than the McRib coming in and out like a negligent father, the McDonald's menu doesn't change."

Didn't enjoy

Not sure if it just wasn't my style or what, but listened to this for two hours and had enough. Was disappointed.

Book about getting Diarrhea and Eating a lot.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

People who had just been lobotomized, and or are doing a case study on the worst books on Audible. This could have been an interesting concept but it was poorly executed and highly repetitive.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ben Nesvig again?

Never. Unless my options were be shot in the head and or listen to another Ben Nesvig book. But otherwise I will never listen to another thing that he writes or narrates. It is roof not ruff. This book is all about getting Diarrhea and Eating an obscene amount.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ben Nesvig?

Literally anyone else. Pick a random person off the street and they would have delivered a better audio performance than this man. Especially since he is the writer the lack enthusiasm, energy and comedic delivery is ridiculous. You sir are bad and should feel bad.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from First World Problems: 101 Reasons Why the Terrorists Hate Us?

I would have burnt the entire book. This book has 3 reasons for terrorist to hate us, which was stretched and called 101 but focus around these three points: 1. We complain about things even though we live in a technologically advanced civilization and don't know what real strife is. One of you will say, yeah that is what the book is about, but the arguments made are idiotic. 2. This man has Crohn's or IBS and shits a lot which results in bathroom dilemmas. 3. This man eats a lot which with his aforementioned problem of constant diarrhea he is forced to used public washrooms with cheap amenities.

Any additional comments?

I hate you and this book. That is $10 and 3 hours that I will never get back.

Not a good buy

One of the not-so-good buys I did recently. The narration is below par and is a reflection of the content. Too superficial and hardly funny. I was lured by the sample joke of the book. Struggling to finish it.

Very relevant

I could either relate to or could imagine someone I know for most of the scenarios in this book.

However the bathroom/bodily function chapter was a bit much. Maybe Ben doesn't have to share so much.
