First-time leaders get motivational and planning tools from top executive coaching firms.

The First-Time Leader provides basic frameworks, processes, and tools to help first-time leaders and their teams deliver better results faster. Leading is about inspiring and enabling others to do their absolute best, together, to realize a meaningful and rewarding shared purpose. Authors George Bradt, managing director of PrimeGenesis, and Gillian Davis, managing director of AlanKey, show how to achieve these results through the BRAVE acronym: behaviors, relationships, attitudes, values, environment. Learn the three stages of team development and get advice for specific leadership situations including onboarding yourself, onboarding others, and crisis management.

  • Offers a way of thinking about leadership and a structure for action to help first-time leaders lead at both overall conceptual and tactical levels
  • Contains illustrative examples and stories from a range of experienced leaders and experts to help guide first-time leaders through things they may not have experienced themselves

The First-Time Leader shows new leaders what to do next, later, never, why, and how. It's an indispensable guide for stepping up and inspiring others to come together for success.

This is a glorified advertisement for their website and their other products. I wouldn't mind it so much, but after being told repeatedly to go to their website where you have to give over your personal information and agree to receive *more*advertisements, the author then proceeds to refer to key information only by numerical number, so you have to stop what you're doing and pull up your (hopefully) copied information that they are referring to. This is such a blatant attempt to force the listener to keep looking at their advertisements that it's outright dishonest and scammy!
Adding to the scammy feeling is the author's frequent use of manipulative language. At points, the author seems to be intentionally negging the audience. In light of the frequent advertisements, I can only assume that it's meant to lead the listener to the conclusion that the only way to save themselves from their own failure is to buy more things from them.
If the book contained at least some concrete information, rather than just upselling, buzz words and anecdotes showing how 'this person failed and only turned things around by instituting (insert vague and usually unspecific buzzword or phrase here)!', then I would at least give it the credit of a timeshare presentation. Unfortunately, this was just a dishonest book read by a great narrator.

Dishonest and scammy infomercial for their other products

I only got about 30 minutes into this audiobook before I decided to turn back. Besides being read like a textbook, it turns out it is. This is probably a great book to read on paper, in your own voice. The reading here is dry and pedantic (read no flourish or tone). I stopped at the 30 minute mark because the author states something along the lines of "this is not a book you just read and think about, it is designed as a reference book to come back to." Well, that's kinda tough for an audio book.

Way to boring to listen to, not designed to be an audiobook. Maybe buy the print version.

Maybe on Paper, this is not an Audio Book
