Fun and Games

Well written and well read. Nice pacing with enough breaks to come up for air. Fills in nicely the backstory on how seven ended up in the rangers.

Great Book. not so great narration.

January Lavoy puts wayyy too much emotion into Seven. It does not sound like Seven at all, which was off putting. I wish Robert Petcoff (I think that's how you spell it) had done the reading. Book itself was great. Janeway voice was good but Lavoy is just not good with narrating Seven.

Fun!

Fun to hear Seven and Janeway. January Jones nailed the voices and acted the heck out of the parts. I just thought the story was a little predictable and on the nose, but it was still a good time.

Definitely the New Classic Star Trek

This will be a fantastic read for anybody who is a longtime Trekkie (like myself), and especially for fans of Seven of Nine. David Mack is a master storyteller! He writes Janeway the way we remember her back when she was Captain on Voyager. And 7 of 9 is a heap of sharp human complexity and female emotion. The author very elegantly graces the LGBT topic without going overboard but in a way that is tasteful and adds greater depth to the mystique of this half-human half-cyborg personality. And LaVoy!!! She was the perfect choice for its narration.

The success of the story makes the revelation that our heroine (7 of 9) eventually becoming Star Fleet, bittersweet. This was hinted at in the last season of Picard; which I didn't mind then; but that was long before this book came out. Now, I wished she had remained in the ranks of the Fenris Rangers. Had this been the case, I could easily see this being a new Star Trek spinoff.

Just imagine: Star Trek - Fenris Rangers

Follows canon well!

Fallows Canon well with before and in new inclusion of Star Trek Picard and other series after.

Rangers!

A good primer on how Seven became a ranger, this fills in the gap about her life.

THE AUTHOR CHANNELED 7 of 9

This book gripped me tight and didn't let me go until the very end of chapter 30. 30! It's not only has 7 and Janeway but, introduced new riveting characters you can't help but love. It's a warp 9.99 trek across space and back again! The narrator captures the heart of each character and with her talented voice brings each to full living color. Multi talented people behind this book. Listen to it for yourself and see! OUTSTANDING!!

Great trek book.

David Mack has been my favorite Star Trek author for a while now and this was up to his usual standards. A lot of action and interesting characters. Also handles the drama and growth of seven real well. Hope they keep up with the Picard books. If there are any more discovery books about Rayner hope he does it as well.
