Excellent Advice on Wealth Building

Assumes you know nothing, but that you are fully capable of learning everything you need to know to successfully manage your own investments. After listen this book, I know I still have more to learn, but I feel empowered to get there and already so much more knowledgeable than I was. Very accessible and easy to read. Also (as with all Dummies books), you don't have to listen from cover-to-cover. It's designed for you to be able to flip around to get the sections you really want to know more about.

Great listen. Points that have changed thinking.

I just finished listen this book and it has left me feeling angry about all the debt I've lead myself into and what schools should be teaching us in school. The mantra I heard in my youth is go to school, get good grades, go to college and get a good job. Nobody said that I would be working to make someone else rich, that I would be taxed the more I make, trusting that my job and my government will still take care of me after I stop working. This book teaches you to change your mindset.

Easy, simple to listen.

This book is a work of genius!!! I tried to get into stocks years ago and none of the references for beginners I came across made any sense, so I gave up. I decided to give it another try and some references captured the very basics like "what is a stock?" "why is investing important?" but after that sent me for a loop again. I'll surely recommend this book to my friends and family. Happy listen!! I would must recommended for this book.

Excellent book, Must listen!

Another great book by Dave Aziz, Andrew Ramsey which is very simple and straight forward. Any new beginner or newbie should read this guide to know the dynamics of the market and to get a better understanding of how stock market works. I had my doubts about this but I found this to be a really good book. It captures a lot of essential information for people getting started in trading stocks. This book covers a number of different strategies that a beginner could use as he starts his investing career. There are many links in the book with useful information and sites that the author uses himself to invest

Excellent Personal Guide for Finances

This book is useful for giving you an overview of finance and investing, but does not go into great detail on how to execute the plans...it's enough to get you started. You may need to seek guidance elsewhere for the details. This book is worth getting even if you read articles on the website.

Great Starting Point

A lot of investment books today have an underlying sales pitch to purchase an authors program. Not this book. It instead gives a broad overview of the market while touching on a few key strategies that have a proven track record.

Informative investing guide!

This book was an awesome read to a new-comer in the scene of investing. The author points out that the real net income from stock investments is the investments’ gain minus the cost of the investments. The costs are relatively easy to determine in the case of retail brokers charging for a stock trade when buying or selling stocks. However, the costs are much more complicated for mutual funds .

Easy-To-Digest Sample Platter for Beginners

This is a fantastic book for someone looking to start investing. It does a great job of not just explaining how everything works, but teaching the listen how to go about trading. One point that I really like about this book is that it is not a sales pitch.

Easy-To-Digest Sample Platter for Beginners

A good compact book for beginners. It was very well explained and terms were defined as well. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a basic but thorough background that is also a short book.

The best book for valuation on the market

Great book that walks you through IB step by step. It even helped me during an interview when they asked me about Enterprise Value. A CAUTION, however--this book is much better as review during or after business school, or after you've started working in finance. If you know nothing about finance, it's probably not the best to jump into this book cold-turkey. I have an MBA in finance and found this book to be much more practical in its instruction of financial valuation methods than any of my MBA text books ever were.

Solid basics on investing

This book clearly lays out the stock buying process and what you should look for and stay away from. Obvious the secret to getting rich is not in here as the stock market is a gamble, but for someone who knew nothing at all about the stock market this was a very easy and informative listen. I usually don't bother to write reviews, but I was so impressed with this one that I felt I had to share. I generally like the Dummies books. They usually accomplish their goal of explaining a topic in easy to understand terms, and this is important to me. I found this to be very true for this book.
