I had everything I ever wanted, until my life was flipped upside down. Now, I’m suddenly being forced to live in my parent’s hometown, with complete strangers. Like my heart isn’t broken enough. Could I fall any further? Yes. Yes, I could. Why might that be? The Allstars - Xavier Knight, Hunter Asheville, and Tobias Holmes - Asheville High’s prestigious star football players. They’re my worst nightmare. But damn...why do they have to be so mouth-wateringly hot?

Story
Shh, I have a secret. The sinfully gorgeous members of the Student Council—Church, Ranger, Spencer, Micah and Tobias—can't ever find out. I already get picked on because my father's the headmaster. I don't need them to know I’m the only girl, too; I’d rather dress like a boy. Adamson All-Boys Academy now has its only female student, but I'm not about to be their guinea pig. Not when there's a secret at this school nobody is talking about. Not when the last female student here ended up dead.

In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever. For the next seven years, it was us. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

Publisher's summary
Break the new girl. That should be easy, right? Trash like her doesn’t belong at Burberry Prep. No, Marnye Reed is going down, and we plan to make a spectacle out of it. Let’s see who can make her fall in love first. Bet’s on. Any takers?
Take on the filthy rich boys. They’re the idols of the school, veritable gods on earth. Old money. New money. A rising star. These guys are nothing like the ones at my old school. I might come from nothing, but I’m determined to be someone, and I won’t let them get in my way. They say they’ll make my life a living hell; I think they mean to keep that promise.
Filthy Rich Boys is a 97,000 word reverse harem/mature high school bully romance novel. This is book one of four in the series. Contains foul language and sexual scenes; any sex featured is consensual.

Harsh
CM Stunich is a very interesting author for me. I love 80% of her work. I enjoy her jabs and foray into current civil issues and politics - as I’m a firm believer truth should be shoved in people’s faces whether they like it or not.
I’ve struggled with her lash outs as an author. So I’ve stepped back from fully supporting her as a fan in her groups, but I can’t stay away from her material. Stunich can write. I can’t deny that and she tends to speak to me through her words on the page.
This story? Was harsh. I knew what it was going into it. I had some serious eye roll moments when it came to Marni and some of her decisions. And even though the ending was given away in the beginning, therefore I knew she would be betrayed by the guys... it still hurt to experience. Just like it hurt the main character.
Stunich does that. She really does. She grips you as a reader and you can’t look away.
So I’m sitting here frustrated that book 2 isn’t out on audio right now. I know I need to get the kindle version, which sucks because I really don’t like reading books anymore. I need to listen for my lifestyle. But I’m so compelled to know what happens... I have no choice. I hopefully will know what happens soon.
As for Marnye Young? WOW. I struggled with her as a narrator for the Kit Davenport series - but she completely turned it around for this one. Her voice was so pleasant to listen to and the duet narration was awesome.
So good job on that! Good job all around.

Disgusted
Don’t waste your time on this crap. If you like weak females who throw themselves at boys with no redeeming qualities even after they throw her multiple suicide attempts In her face then go ahead. There are no heroes in this book. Just a downtrodden girl who lusts after people who treat her like dirt as if stepping all over her is forgivable
If they are good looking but the cruelest boys ever. Between that and the fact that the kids were acting like 20+ year olds and were actually high school freshman.....yeah.....no.

Irritated, but hooked.
The whole time I was reading/listening to this book I was wondering why it got so many 5 star ratings. But now at the end I figure I don’t have to like the main character for the book to be good.
Marnye is the stupidest girl that falls for every trick thrown away. But then she is only 15 so... What bugs me is that she should know better. She does know better and still walks blindly in to the trap. This isn’t a spoiler because the prologue gives it all away. Which also bugged me why put tell the reader so succinctly then ending of your book. Leave a little suspense. Reveal the trick but maybe don’t tell us she is ready to fight on. That would have at least been a gratifying reveal as the prologue was essentially retold.
I guess my main problem is no one would be this stupid, right? And to go from one enemy to another and have the instant hits for someone who has made your life hell and called you a White every which way just doesn’t sit well. I don’t think a victim of such heinous before would be so gullible.
All that said I read the whole bloody book and am buying book two.

Most Pathetically Stupid book award winner!
There’s a lot of stupid, badly written books, this is 100% the most pathetic and stupid. The writer’s ability to write isn’t even the problem, it’s that she seems to have the intellect and emotional maturity of about a 12-14 year old. I would be shocked if the author wasn’t just about exactly this: a very young Millennial emo outcast who was bullied and grew up without wealth but deeply envied it, is potentially obsessed with it yet is clueless as to how the upper echelon actually behaves and that ‘rich people’ are actually humans—not evil aliens devoid of developed brains and behaviors. She’s also clearly a liberal as the book is full of virtue signaling. Here is the mindless story: some spoilers that don’t affect the story.
The rich kids are bad, (of course wealthy people are awful). Marnie is the only scholarship recipient in this expensive prep school (named after a random designer clothing brand to make it sound rich). The scholarship creator picked her essay out of thousands and apparently let her kids read it even though they’re her peers at at the school and it would provide them with every opportunity to bully because it was full of every deep, painful, embarrassing secret Marnie has. The rich kids at the school instantly and with zero cause hate Marnie ‘for no other reason than because she’s poor’. (Everyone knows her socioeconomic status somehow?) They do horrendous things to her which she just takes like a brainless sap (the author thinks Marnie looks like a saint I think). They even chop all her ‘butt length’ hair off into a pixie cut and dye it red after apparently drugging her—yet all she does is not report it, the-dye it ‘rose gold’. But occasionally it’s long enough to twirl, I guess the author forgets her own details they’re so inane. The one girl who is super nice to her is the scholarship creator’s daughter who read her essay, but her twin brother is awful to her. (Zero substance to character development, they’re either totally good or totally bad, they also have zero nuance whatsoever. Entirely one dimensional) Then suddenly Marnie is fully ensconced in their inner social circle (despite being called ‘working girl’ and ‘charity’) soon all the ‘idol boys’ are jockeying for her affections. (yes it’s that stupid, the rich popular kids are called idols and others are called plebs like plebeian) Her mom who left her at a gas station when she was 3 to run off and marry a rich man (again, rich people = terrible people) gives her 15 year old daughter sexy lingerie as a gift for prep school to ‘bag a rich boy’. These are also 15 year old Freshman boys with full tattoos, driving cars, frequenting gambling venues and consuming alcohol and cigarettes being referred to as men. One is an actual famous rock star. It’s like a little girl’s juvenile fantasies—so embarrassingly silly. Marnie is a virgin because it has to be as stupid and cliche as possible and merely touching her butt is enough to ‘pay her debt’ to one of the boys. (Some poker game she won meant they couldn’t be mean to her for the rest of the 1st semester, apparently she lost a round and her debt was a junior high level bum squeeze—so stupid and juvenile it’s embarrassing). She also refused to forgive her ex boyfriend due to discovering he made a bet involving her, yet the ‘idol’ boys are only being decent to her because she won a poker bet and call her names yet she’s ‘falling for all of them’ despite zero development or growth in any relationships or encounters. One idol boy supposedly spent all day baking artisan chocolates for Marnie’s Valentines gift. Yeah, a rude 15 year old boy tirelessly baked dozens of batches of fine chocolates to perfect the craft for a girl he just recently reviled and still calls the ‘working girl’.
The girl’s expensive education is paid for, her uniform and ‘book bag that cost more than her father’s car’ (Hermès Birkins for prep school apparently?). Her entertainment, clothes for personal use after school, etc all provided for her yet the author constantly squeezes in how unfair it is that she doesn’t have as much and how if she had family wealth akin to ‘the gdp of some small countries’ (another dumb cliche) she’d ‘lift families out of poverty but that’s just her’. So it’s another thing politicized by a liberal mindset that rich people are to blame for all the ills and evil of the world and those with normal amounts of money or less are Saints who deserve to be gifted everything. The rich kids also don’t appreciate the things they have...so Marnie deserves them. She feels sorry for them because they don’t understand wealth and what it’s like to live without it. OR...maybe they are a bit more evolved emotionally or sophisticated enough to understand that money doesn’t actually equate to happiness and success in life.
The overall affect of this book is that it could have been written by an immature, envious, angry, vengeful and profoundly unsophisticated junior high school child. Seriously, who publishes this junk? Editors and publishers don’t seem to work hard to discover talent and quality and intelligent writing anymore. And I guess lots of very young, immature readers are consuming more books—but if they’re this stupid it’s not a good thing.

Really frustrating...
Okay, This book was really working my nerves with the stupid decisions these fools were making. they're 15 yrs old, Rich kids, poor kids all of them making bad decisions bcuz where are the parents and adults.
Yeah, those kids RUN that school and they're only acting how I'm pretty sure their parents act or they pick it up from their peers.
The main character, I have no words for her. This is how rumors at school get started and you hear about the fast girl and she became the pariah. True or not it's sad and reputation is ruined. I'm trying to remember what I was like at that age and for the life of me, I've always been taught that you don't push yourself up on ppl who don't like you. That's the baffling part. You've already been abused soooooo, you haven't learned your lesson?! Wtf! I'm not going anywhere near you damn parties, hanging with you and your friends after you declare you're gonna make my life a living hell until I leave. My momma would've told me you go to school to learn and not make friends. You do not have the luxury to play around like them. Lmaooooo!
For her to be book smart she had zero common sense. I can't even call her naive bcuz she's been through this before but she's just plain desperate for some friends she'll take anyone. Ooo I just met these handsome boys who are satan's spawn who talked to me today! They make my life hell but make me tingle. I think we might one day be real good friends! Every person her friend. Her enemies, the cafeteria lady, the principal she don't care. Now, she mad because she's lost good friends behind these idiots. I don't feel bad for her at all. Sorry! I hope the next book gets better cause I don't want to listen to her go to the extreme on the flipside. Should be interesting...

Bully Romance
I really enjoyed this story and the narrators. Even though they story was written in the h her POV, all the male conversations were done by a male narrator.

Prologue tells you ending
Overall it’s good and I liked and will listen to the second one. However I didn’t like how the prologue told me the overall ending and outcome of the first book

Incredibly frustrating book
Where to begin.....This book lacked, lacked, lacked. There was too much of the character talking in her own mind than actually talking to people. I had to forward several times just to get back into an conversation, it was so frustrating like hurry up already. The main character was weak and a door mat. Yes the taunting and bullying and cruelty was awful and humiliating but come on and give the girl even a bit of back bone and not once did I she report it. She willingly allowed herself to be played by these boys. I don’t want to spoil it but that ending was so badly done too I started to laugh, like seriously come on, no police, no investigation, no teachers saying anything like ano this is fiction and all but come on.

Book one…. Great start ❤️🔥
The main female character is naive and likes to think the best of everyone. Unfortunately, she plays right into the bully's hands. They humiliate her and they take great joy when doing it. I’m looking forward to book two and I really hope she gets some serious revenge.

Why all the 5 star reviews?
I only got as far as I did because of the reviews. I figured it had to get better. Nope. Pitifully unrealistic. Ages/maturity were all wrong. No character depth. Zero character depth. I love this trope normally. And I also think starting the way it did was a huge mistake. Major disappointment. Narrator choice was odd but they did the best they could with what they were given.

I'm committed now
I'm new to the whole bully romance thing but love the HAVOC series so I thought I'd give this a try. I nearly didn't continue after about 3ish chapters in. The whole bullying has me feeling icky but I stuck it out. The story is gripping and frustrating. I like Marnie, didn't agree with alot of her choices. She's determined to keep moving forward and I admire that in her. The cruelty of these boys is horrific - but that's the point right? I like Zack, I'm hoping their relationship is redeemable but his past behaviour was abhorrent. I'm not sure I'll ever come around to any of these guys as a love interest. IMO they have a serious shit tonne of grovelling to do. I'm really hoping Marnie makes them suffer in the next book.

Every year, the town of Devil Springs holds a celebration known as Devils’ Day. There’s no magic, but there might as well be: We wear masks, we play tricks, we party hard. Every year, the students of Crescent Reform School party the hardest. They’re the lewdest, the most wanton, ribald, and lascivious.

Psst, I know a secret. The same secret that the Student Council—the super-rich, super handsome elite of Adamson All-Boys Academy—knows, too. Jenica Woodruff, the only girl to ever attend the academy before I showed up, didn't commit suicide: she was murdered. Now, someone is after me, too, but no matter where I go, the killer follows. My new high school isn't safe, and turns out, neither is my old one.

Oh, how naive the black haired beauty was! Fate has finally brought her back to me...to Blackthorn Academy. Once upon a time, I was obsessed, consumed with the need to make her mine.
