A SWEET, SEXY & GRIPPING LOVE STORY

After the heartbreaking Prologue that shaped Ryder's future you can understand (as Chapter 1 starts with the handsome drool worthy Playboy waking up next to two women) just how he's managing to cope after that fateful life altering night years ago. Now he's strictly a roguish once and done manwhore... and he doesn't ever plan to change. He's got the double whammy of jobs in his favor... a Fireman AND he's a successful MMA Fighter.

However, as Ryder's about to make his legendary moves on an unsuspecting beautiful redhead - it was him that was caught off guard by HER aloof nature, by HER sexual moves... and by HER clinical one and done attitude and he didn't like the feeling at all. Tessa is a Nurse but a horrific childhood has twisted her mind into thinking that she's not worthy of a loving relationship and all she can hope for are brief 'encounters' when her mental demons get too much for her to bear. However, it's an outlet that's about to backfire on her - because her latest hookup is sitting in an examination room waiting to be stitched up... and he's more than happy to see her again.

Ryder is prepared to turn over a new leaf for a relationship with Tessa but she's fighting their connection and the sizzling chemistry between them which brings out Ryder's sweet, thoughtful and tender side. But, just when he thought everything seemed to be going his way, Tessa did the unthinkable in an attempt to drive Ryder away. And, following her cruel actions, she unknowingly went on to devastate his world further by opening up her childhood wounds which revealed a hidden WTF twist that was so overwhelming Ryder's mind just couldn't process it.... and I never saw it coming either - and was just as shocked as Ryder. His sad and heartbreaking actions that followed were so moving.

These two well developed characters were so likeable, understandably damaged but nevertheless likeable, they were two survivors who used sex as a means to escape, the push/pull banter between them was fun and friendly, the sex was hot, Ryder's passionate pleas and promises were heartfelt, there was humor and a few interesting secondary characters too. The storyline took a heartbreaking darker turn while Tessa's past was revealed and touching scenes followed as Ryder tried to cope with the news - but on the whole the story was addictive, enjoyable, emotionally heartwarming and yet heartbreaking at times too. Dual POV's, an easy standalone beautiful love story that builds, shatters then is pieced back together again stronger than ever. Good narration.

Worth a credit? Yes this was a great listen but beware... read the Publisher's warning at the bottom of the Review for possible triggers.

Loved this whole series!! I can't seem to wait to read the next one. The alpha males are amazing and the strong women are fabulous! Narration. spot on.

Parallels Reality

I truly enjoyed Tess and Ryder’s story. It seemed to be the most related to real life! If there was any criticism it’s that she used the phrase “my own “ way too many times. Sometimes ‘mine’ would have been more fitting. Overall I really loved this group of friends that supported each other through difficulties as well as getting in each other’s faces when needed.

An Intense emotional must listen!

My first Jennifer Miller book was Charming: A Modern Day Sexy Cinderella Story it was light hearted, fun, but with twist that make a great love story. I was not prepared for the intensity that was Fighting Lust! Holy Moly was this an amazing story line, I did not see the plot twist happening! Ryder was one of the cockiest book boyfriends I've ever read, he is damn sure of himself and it wasn't a turn off at all. Now Tessa, well Tessa has more issues than Julie Michaels. Talk about a having a past and when Tessa and Ryder get together you have a sexy, drama filled fabulous listen!

I was new to listening to the narrators Angela Moore and George Wickham but they both have great voices and did an excellent job bringing the story to life and making you feel the emotion of the characters. I highly recommend you give Fighting Lust a read or listen! 5 out of 5 roses!
