ATF agent Peter Lomax isn't a hearts and flowers kind of guy, but he can be possessive, and it caused problems - until Carver Fleming. Carver may be part of the art world, but he gets Peter, loves belonging to the man, and Peter treasures the way Carver understands them together.

Carver loves Peter, but he's fully aware that six months doth not a commitment make. Carver wants to make the relationship last forever, but he'll have to leave their life in Chicago to take care of the family he loves. He wants to do it with Peter by his side, but going from the city of Chicago to tiny Colt, Kentucky is a big change.

Carver has only one Christmas wish: Please, oh please, let Peter fall enough in love with Carver's family to follow Carver home.

Can anything be better... Greg Tremblay has a magical style of narration, characters are great and his sense of timing, is amazing. Mary has written a really good x-mas short story and with Greg reading it, it becomes awesome.

Any additional comments?

I'm not usually a fan of short stories but this one was heartwarming, sexy, well written, and generally adorable. Even the secondary characters were memorable. It was a sweet holiday tale and narrator Greg Tremblay was quite good. Recommended!

Great short story - wish it was longer

Where You Lead is another great example of Mary Calmes’ ability to tell a romantic tale. This is one is a little shorter than most of her others, but it is no less engrossing and engaging.

The story centers around Peter Lomax and Carver Fleming. They’re already together at the beginning of the story but we are treated to flashbacks about how they met and got together. But that isn’t the main plot of the story.

The focus is about Carver’s desire to move back to his Kentucky home town. Peter is less than thrilled about the idea but he decides to go with Carver and see if it would work. Peter than falls in love with Carver’s family.

This was a sweet and short tale that I loved from beginning to end. I fell in love with Carver right along with Peter. And seeing Peter and Carver overcome their issues and obstacles was awesome.

A perfect story for readers whether they’ve read the author before or not.

Narration Review:

Greg Tremblay is one of those superb narrators who never fails to delight. He created the perfect voices for Peter and Carver as well as the various members of Carver’s family. All distinct and unique.

Another great one from Mary Calmes

Greg Tremblay knocks it out of the park again!

There's just something about Mary Calmes' writing. This author manages to bring funny, sweet, heat and feels all together so brilliantly every time, and this time is no different. Considering how short this short novella is - it's amazing just how much is packed into it. It's got humor, hot sex, deep emotions, more humor and more hot sex. It's a fantastic time - BUY IT!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Easter Egg for us nerds: For those of us who loved All Kinds of Tied Down - this is the story that's mentioned during the weekly poker game.

I don't know how Mary Calmes does it, but she does. She got me to cry THREE times while reading this lovely story about life, love, choices, growing old, feeling the call of duty to care for aging parents, and she even hinted at the subject -- dementia. Once again, Greg Tremblay rocked it out! LOVE!!

Mary and Greg, you ROCK!!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it was fast and fun and I really loved the way the narrator brought the characters to life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Where You Lead?

The conversation at the table between Peter and Carver's mother. That man knew he was a goner, and he couldn't even be mad about it.

What about Greg Tremblay’s performance did you like?

Everything! He can bring any character to life with his voice.

If you could take any character from Where You Lead out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Carver's mother. That woman is full of piss and vinegar and she almost stole the show.

Any additional comments?

You ever have one of those guys… clingy, possessive, but loving and adoring all at the same time? Most people don’t like those character flaws in their significant other, but then, Carver Fleming isn’t most people. From the day these two met and Peter showed Carver just how dominant and possessive he could be, in a dark alley no less, Carver has belonged to Peter; mind, body and soul. So when Carver tells Peter that he has to move back home to Kentucky to take care of his ailing mother, Peter is none too happy. Faced with mornings waking up without Carver lying next to him in bed, what choice will Peter make?

What a fun story. I am always eager to dive into a Mary Calmes story, and this novella was no exception. Peter is this large, in charge, alpha male personality while Carver is perfectly happy letting his man take that control. They really do complement each other in every way. When you add in Carvers crazy, southern charm family, the story gets very entertaining.

I’m not sure if it was the story the way it was written, or the way it was conveyed by narrator Greg Tremblay. Perhaps the combination of the two when merged, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Tremblay has so many voices and accents in his arsenal that you never have to strain to know if there is a character change. While this was a fast, fun listen with a short cast, each character had their own personality in the way they were read. The voices they were given matched their part in the story so well, it was almost like Calmes and Tremblay wrote the book together.

I would recommend this audio to anyone that enjoys Calmes stories coupled with Tremblay’s amazing vocal chops. It’s also the perfect Holiday story with just enough sexiness to melt the frost on your windows!

Fun Holiday story!
