He didn't think he had a heart. Until he lost it.

St. Bride's College, Cambridge, England, 1905.

Jonty Stewart is handsome and outgoing, with blood as blue as his eyes. When he takes up a teaching post at the college where he studied, his dynamic style acts as an agent for change within the archaic institution. He also has a catalytic effect on Orlando Coppersmith.

Orlando is a brilliant, introverted mathematician with very little experience of life outside the university walls. He strikes up an alliance with Jonty and soon finds himself heart-deep in feelings he's never experienced. Before long their friendship blossoms into more than either man had hoped.

Then a student is murdered within St. Bride's. Then another...and another. All the victims have one thing in common: a penchant for men. Asked by the police to serve as their eyes and ears within the college, Jonty and Orlando risk exposing a love affair that could make them the killer's next target.

Such brilliant writing and captivating story. The characters are funny and eloquently brilliant. Loved it!

Hilarious and witty

This was definitely more sweet than erotic. A bit like M/M written for one's Nana. That said, I liked it. It's a period piece, taking place in 1905, and it feels authentic -- the language, mannerisms, etc. I didn't notice any jarring anachronisms. The narration was very well done.

sweet romance

First in Charlie Cochrane’s “Cambridge Fellows” series of which I have the boxset as well as this first installment in my Kindle library. Sadly, THIS is the ONLY one in the series that was produced as an 🎧. The narrator, Mayes, was a first time for me and though there are other narrators that I’m familiar with that would have done a fine job, I almost feel that because Phil Mayes’ voice was new to me, it made the performance and enjoyment even more special.
I just wish that the other 📚 in the series were also available on 🎧.
I also buy the 🎧 on the majority of my 10K+ e-books (unless they’re “virtual voice” and I wish more 📖 did, so that more ✍️ found it to be if not lucrative, at least affordable for them and their publisher…

“Narrator Brought It All To Life”

I was also able to read an advanced copy, and I loved it. Fast paced, witty, fun, touching, and tough all rolled into a story with a hero that you will want to come back to again and again. It made me see that 'wrong' isn't always as it seems, and I look forward to many more nights spent with Charlie Cochrane..

Excellent Thriller !!

The story was pretty interesting but I had a difficult time getting into the narration. I like Phil Mayes, but it just didn’t seems to fit for me this time.

I enjoyed it, but...
