Publisher's Summary

Amherst, New Hampshire, is known for its lush landscapes and pastoral beauty. It's also the home of The One, a hideous little ghost boy named Samson, who's been dead for centuries and feeds off the life force of the living. His smile is as alluring as he is deadly. Now, Shane Ryan must destroy him before Samson grants the Watchers eternal life.

Shane is weary, depressed and in love with a ghost. If that's not bad enough, his depression is leading him into reckless behavior on his job. He's no longer a ghostbuster as much as a killing machine. He's obsessed with annihilating the Watchers and their properties, one ghost and one human at a time. But his personal life is on a collision course with his professional mission and his friends are worried.

When Shane finally finds Samson, the encounter is cataclysmic. With demonic glee, the lethal specter relishes the thought of killing the ghost hunter. Fueled by hate, Shane's obsession to destroy the Watchers and Samson drives him to the edge. As events spiral into a dark place, Shane realizes their end could also be his own....

Overall a good series

I have to honestly say that after 9 books the series did not get tired or boring. It was still interesting and just as exciting as all the others before. Great series to read.

Amazing!

I highly recommend the entire series. The main characters come across as very real. They have baggage, they're believable, and it makes you cheer for them that much more. It's not always easy to get attached to a character in what boils down to a ghost story, but this series nails it on the head. I'm always left wanting more. Each story in the series builds off the last and takes you a great journey. Sometimes, as with life, the journey is painful. I highly recommend the series. Once you start into it, you won't want to put the series down. if you're anything like me, you'll be desperately watching for an announcement that the next book is being released. I hope to never hear the end of Shane Ryan!

Awwwwwwesome!!!!

Wow! Perhaps the best book of the who!e series! Action packed and exciting the whole way through. Less on the grisly bits but certainly not devoid which I thought was good. The story just didn't need anything extra to make it awesome. Lots of gasp-worthy moments. It was difficult to put it down a lot of times, especially toward the end of the middle.

A solid ending to a great series

I loved this series of books, and enjoyed watching the characters grow from their experiences. This was a good solid ending, with resolutions to the open issues, as well as some bonus bits at the end that enhanced the world in which the story takes place. I have not tackled a series of more than 3 or 4 books for a while, so the fact that this series kept me interested the whole time was quite impressive! Looking forward to more from this author.

The Ghost Finale

Not as good as the first few books in the series. The hero Shane Ryan has become moody and morose. The battle with the Watchers finally comes to an end with a race between them and Shane to find the ghost named Samson who they call "The One". I found this book predictable and could guess what was coming next, I even said lines as the narrator was reading them, it is a little disappointing when you know what is going to happen next. Still it is worth a listen especially if you have listened to the other 8 books. I would like to thank the author Ron Ripley for being kind enough to provide me with this series. Overall I enjoyed them.
