It follows the trials and tribulations of an educated African American man that was born into freedom and later kidnapped, taken away from his family, and forced into slavery.

A few technical problems
Overall a great listen (other than the technical issues at the beginning of chapters 3 and 6). I did enjoy the story about a Black man who was mistakenly made a slave. He found a way to create the cotton gin. I wondered if the story was true. I enjoyed the story, The things that bothered me: 'n' word usage and not being able to follow the story as he died. How did he die? Was he poisoned? Was that a heart attack? I wish I knew .
