Publisher's summary

The truth will set you free...except when it doesn't...

Private investigator Sebastian Clifford and his partner Birdie step into the world of celebrity when a star of children's TV turns to them for help. She's being blackmailed by someone who knows about her murky past, and she's desperate to keep it hidden. But silence comes at a price, and it's one she can't afford to pay.

Clifford, who knows better than anyone what it's like to be punished for one mistake, agrees to help. As they dig deeper, they discover that everyone has secrets, and some are dark enough to kill for. Can they find the blackmailer before it's too late and save the reputation—and the life—of a beloved star?

Fear the Truth is book five in the bestselling Detective Sebastian Clifford thriller series and is a perfect blend of mystery, mayhem, and danger.

Another great book in this series

Like books 1-4 in this series, this one was well-written, had interesting characters, and top-tier narration.

Now for Book 6! It's in my wish list, and looking forward to its release in April.

another good - but too short

if i hadn't been looking forward to read this next installment I would have waited on it to go on sale. blowing a credit on a 5 hour 59 minute book seems wasteful. a couple of the others were well over 7 hours. other than that it was good.

Great story

Sometimes it is a bit repetitive but it was a very enjoyable listen. The best of the series.

Endearing characters

Though sometimes the crime story lines feel contrived, I just love these characters! Thoroughly enjoyed all 5 books and looking forward to the next one.

The narration

I was looking forward to the next installment in this series but unfortunately I'm rather disappointed. I found the story line was quite weak and absolutely nothing gripped me. I have to liken it to the Walker/Cavendish series .. really enjoyed the first books but found them progressively boring

Didn’t like this one much

I typically really like this series, but I found this particular plot line to be boring. I almost returned the book, but didn’t because of long-standing familiarity with the two main characters. I’m glad it’s done. I’ll give the next one a chance and hopefully it will be back on track.
