Good clean mystery mixed with romance.

I really liked the narrator of this book, Romy Nordlinger. I think the narration of a book can really make or break a story. Sweet Christian suspense romance.

Compelling listen - luv narration!

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. The story seemed a little unrealistic sometimes but I really got into it. I love the narrtor Romy Nordlinger who just brings it to life. Overall great!

Characters

I liked the characters in the book. The plot was complex with multiple assailants. The book had a lot of action and pacing good.

The characters have a lot of chemistry and make a good match. Their romance lacks, though, because the characters lack courage to speak the truth about their feelings. In my opinion, Christian romance authors purposely and artificially keep their characters apart until the last minute. Do romances last when the characters spend so much time avoiding telling the truth about their feelings? They write romance but not romantic relationship. It’s really weird.

The parts of the book I like best are the bits of information making the facts about things like fire or medical details have the ring of authenticity. The biggest problem I saw with authenticity was the final scene about the kittens. I felt like the story needed a PSA about entering burning buildings. I just rolled my eyes at the cheesiness.

My final thoughts are that I liked the characters but thought the author should make them talk to each other instead of just sharing with the audience their real feelings until the last 5 minutes of the book. The two did grow throughout the book which is always interesting. I liked this book better than others in the genre.
