The SEAL and the scientist
I adore Lisa Marie Rice’s books and was happy to find this book in audiobook form. I believe it was the first book I’d read by the author and the audiobook didn’t disappoint! An injured SEAL is staying at his commander’s beach house trying to recover from injuries he received on a mission. He is feeling dark and depressed knowing his career as a SEAL was pretty much over. When the lady next door brings him a plate of cookies, it’s too dark for him to see her well. But in the morning, he gets his first good look at her when her unruly dog bowls him over in the surf where he’s been swimming. Instant red hot attraction between them wakes his heart (and other things) up and before he knows it they are involved. When she comes up missing and he finds her dog injured, the hero pushes himself to find and rescue her. Great writing and chemistry between characters, with a HEA ending!
