Thought provoking

Put yourself in the soldiers boots. Hear and be in the moment and feel the sense of fear, confusion and regret. Well done.

One of the classics!

This book had everything there was action, drama, and brotherly love. The book gave an inside look at what goes through the hearts and minds of soldiers when they are in battle and the close bonds that they make that can never be broken.

Doesn’t get better

The sense of fear, strength of love, realism of mortality, a soldiers dance between the abysmal void in death and the warm breath of life.
I read Fallen angels as a kid, and after living it again, it still stands at the top of my favorites list.
My only wish, I wish it was 20 hrs longer, I didn’t want it to end.
Highly recommend, 10/10, don’t miss out.

I loved this book, the story is well written and the characters are cool. 10/10 would recommend

Good entertainment for Young Adults

I chose thisBook from the children and teens section of an ongoing sale. It gives one man’s perspective of the Vietnamese war. Although he is African American I don’t think he was representing African Americans in general. The story is laden with profanity and I don’t that is a good learning experience for children therefore I rated the story with 3 stars.

Absolutely Fantastic

Loved it was a great read. Gives a very real perspective to daily life for soilders in Vietnam.

Absolutely Captivating

The story was so raw and real. The way the narrator spoke and how he described things, also using different voices/accents for different characters, made me feel like I was literally right there with Perry in the jungle of Vietnam. I was completely captivated and hanging onto the edge of my seat the whole time as if I myself was there. Throughout the story, I was sent on a roller-coaster of every emotion you could feel, just as Perry and the men in his platoon were. The portrayal of the reality of the Vietnam War is completely authentic in this book. It doesn't get any better than that.
