Publisher's Summary

Brielle Atwater isn't sure of much, but she knows a few things:

  1. Having black wings is not normal.
  2. Selling her soul to the demons was a mistake.
  3. Lincoln Grey is the biggest asshole she's ever met...but not falling in love with him might prove impossible.

When angels fell from the sky to war with the demons that ravaged Earth, their combined powers infected humanity. Now, the humans are assigned one of two fates, being either demon-gifted or angel-blessed.

After wings sprout from Brielle's back at her awakening ceremony, she's sure she's an angel-blessed celestial. It's not until she sees black wings that she realizes something is terribly wrong.

Having sold her contract at a young age to save her father's life means she should be bound for Tainted Academy. That is, until a fallen angel unexpectedly fights for her to be accepted into Fallen Academy, the elite school for those who inhabit Angel City.

She's immediately matched with her impossibly handsome celestial teacher, Lincoln Grey. Laying eyes on him, her first thought is that her time at the academy might actually be fun, but this theory quickly fades when she and Lincoln clash on day one. To further prove her admission into Fallen Academy is cursed, the entire school is thrown into chaos when an Abrus demon reveals that he knows Brielle's secret. Now, above all else, Lincoln must fight to protect her.

To his surprise, the only thing more difficult than trying to save her...is trying not to fall for her.

Book review

I think this series is gonna be big. Defiantly tv worthy. I loved it and can't wait to start book 2. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was how it was narrated. She did a good job just needs a little more experience maybe. But it's a great start to something big.

Good story but the narrator wasnt good

I enjoyed this story. I found it quirky and fun. It wasnt as serious as you would think. They are training to control their powers because there is a demon war going on but it was like a high school drama but they are in college. But it made me laugh and was a fun listen.
However, I did not like the narrator at all. All of these hot celestial males sound like frogs. They didnt have the hot sexy voices you would think angels would have. I also thought Link always sounded angry and rushed even during their playful or intimate moments.

Great performer, ok book

This was an alright book nothing to rave about outside of the narrator. Vanessa did the voice of Willa in The Curse of the God series and she continues to do an amazing job. The main character of the novel is very generic. She’s super over powered and of course “special”. It was annoying how she couldn’t stop thinking about how hot the boys are at the academy. I didn’t really feel like there was a connection between her and Lincoln. They hate each other one moment and then we are suppose to believe they start liking each other in a time jump after a “few” months have gone by. It was a very generic story line. I wouldn’t recommend wasting a credit on this novel. It had so much potential.

Pronunciation please!!!

I generally like Vanessa Moyen’s narrations, but she needs to learn how to pronounce some words. It drives me nuts every time she says “arch angel” or “arch demon””. So much so that I’m not sure I can finish listening to the book. It is pronounced “ark” not “arch”. She has issues with words in other audiobooks too, but that’s another review.

Fantastic Book Addictive Reading

I adore this book about a girl thinking she going to be a demon slave for the rest of her life. Ends up something different all together. Addictive Reading, Read in Two Nights Straight and looking forward to next one. This is a little gem shining bright for young adults who love romance and good verses evil and Angelis verses Demons. I loved this book.
